Salita dura, panorama eccezionale, discesa divertente.
Mi sembrava strano non trovare tracce relative al Lema, da quel che ho capito è sempre pieno di bikers. Salita duretta, con qualche tratto a spinta, fortunatamente breve. Non conoscendo il posto potrei aver mancato varianti migliori, sia in salita che in discesa, spero vengano evidenziate a beneficio di tutti! C'è un po tanto asfalto nella prima parte, non avevo voglia di vagare troppo tra i paesini (carini tra l'altro), ma dopo quota 1100 si va solo di sterrate e sentieri.
In prossimità di alpe fontana ho probabilmente commesso un errore: volevo raggiungere Pradècolo senza perdere quota ... invece ho mancato un bivio e sono passato da Prato Bernardo per farmi una breve risalita a spinta su sentiero non molto bello ...
Si arriva in cima agevolmente, io ho spinto in alcuni punti ripidi tra alpe arasio e la stazione della funivia nonché gli ultimi 5 minuti fino alla croce
La vetta, seppur abbruttita dalla funivia e dal radar meteo, offre una vista spettacolare. Nel mio caso il cielo non fu clemente, nuvole e umidità me l'hanno in parte troncata.
Ho scelto la discesa sul versante sud, inizialmente facile, un po rovinata dalle piogge che hanno formato un sacco di canalini, poi una sequenza di tornantini rende la discesa frizzante e molto divertente, al più di difficoltà medio/facile (percorsa con full da enduro da 160).
Arrivati al passo del monte faeta avevo due possibilità, quella scelta (a sx) mi ha portato su una veloce sterrata che si stringe poi in un comunque largo sentiero, veloce e privo di difficoltà, le due varianti si incrociano nuovamente, da lì in poi di nuovo divertente sentiero fino ad Astano.
Dal paese di Astano son sceso quasi a casaccio cercando di evitare strade con i pochi cartelli escursionistici, riuscendoci almeno in buona parte, con anche divertenti passaggi tra Astano e Sessa e tra Sessa e Molinazzo.
Ottimo per primavera e autunno, lo sconsiglio in estate data l'esposizione a sud e le quote basse.
Ho parcheggiato nella zona industriale di Madonna del Piano, facilmente raggiungibile da Ponte Tresa

Hard climb, exceptional views, downhill fun.
It seemed strange not to find traces related to Lema, from what I understand is always full of bikers. Duretta climb, with some stretch to push, fortunately short. Not knowing the best place I could have missed variants, both uphill and downhill, I hope to be highlighted for the benefit of all! There is a bit much asphalt in the first part, I did not want to wander too far from the villages (nice by the way), but after 1100 it just goes to dirt roads and trails.
Near alp fountain I probably made a mistake: I wanted to reach Pradecolo without losing altitude ... but I missed a junction and I've gone from Lawn Bernardo to make me a short push of ascent trail is not very nice ...
It comes on top easily I've driven in some places between steep alp Arasio and the cable car station and the last 5 minutes to cross
The summit, though brutalized by cable car and the weather radar, offering spectacular views. In my case the sky was not kind, clouds and humidity have me in the truncated part.
I chose the descent on the south side, initially easy, a bit spoiled by the rains which have a lot of grooves, then a sequence of hairpins makes the descent sparkling and very funny, the more difficult medium / easy (covered with full enduro 160).
At the step of Mount Faeta I had two choices, that choice (to left) took me on a fast track that clings then, however, a wide path, fast and without difficulties, the two variants are crossed again, from then on again fun trail to Astano.
From the village of Astano son fell almost at random trying to avoid roads with few signs hiking, and succeed at least in large part, with even amusing passages between and among Astano and Sessa Sessa and Molinazzo.
Great for spring and autumn , do not recommend it in the summer because of the southern exposure and the low stakes.
