Partendo dal centro di Dobbiaco si percorre la ciclabile in direzione Brunico fino a Villabassa.
Da qui si imbocca la strada che porta a Santa Maddalena, sentiero 45 e si prosegue fino a superare il piccolo paese di Kleinsinner.
Si prende poi il sentiero 41 che scende con numerosi tornanti fino a fondovalle alla città di Monguelfo. Si mantiene il sentiero verso destra che porta in Valle di Casies, che immette sulla vecchia strada principale di fondo valle, distrutta da un'alluvione nel 1966 e poi sostituita dalla nuova più lineare e larga sull'altro lato del Rio di Casies.
Si prosegue fino a poco prima del paese Oberplanken, dove si trova un incrocio di sentieri prima di un piccolo ponte di legno. Si imbocca il sentiero 43 per risalire in quota; dopo alcuni chilometri di salita si prosegue sul sentiero 91 per svalicare sul Monte Rota e cominciare la discesa fino a Frondeigen e seguendo i cartelli ben posizionati si arriva nuovamente al centro di Dobbiaco.
Vicino alla chiesa di Dobbiaco Nuova. Nel caso si faccia fatica a trovare parcheggio c'è il parcheggio della stazione dei treni a circa 1,5 km.
