L'itinerario è quello del raid 2008, escursione mtb che si tiene ogni anno i primi di marzo. Ambientato a Montevecchio, centro minerario dismesso del Guspinese da cui in passato venivano estratti piombo e zinco per l'attività di fonderia. Il paesaggio è spettacolare, immerso nella macchia mediterranea, fra corbezzoli, lecci, lentischio ed erica arborea, durante l'estate non è raro, specie all'imbrunire, incontrare qualche esemplare di cervo sardo. Il percorso richiede una certa attenzione, meglio se accompagnati perchè, seppure le miniere siano state messe in sicurezza, possono presentare dei pericoli.
Nella zona sono anche presenti le famose Dune di sabbia di Piscinas fra le più alte in Europa.

Per altri percorsi visitate il sito: Provenendo con la SS 131 da Nord, uscire a Marrubiu, immettendosi sulla SS 126; arrivare ed attraversare il paese di Marrubiu, e, continuando sulla SS 126, raggiungere Terralba e San Nicolò d'Arcidano, quindi proseguire ancora 17 Km fino a Guspini (KM 26 circa). Da qui seguire le indicazioni per Montevecchio.
Provenendo con la SS 131 da Sud, uscire a Sanluri, immettendosi sulla SS 197; arrivare ed attraversare il paese di San Gavino Monreale, e, continuando sulla SS 197 proseguire ancora circa 15 Km fino a Guspini (KM 26 circa). Da qui seguire le indicazioni per Montevecchio.

The route is one of the raid 2008 mtb tour that takes place every year in early March. Set in Montevecchio, abandoned mining center of Guspinese which in the past were mined for lead and zinc foundry activities. The scenery is spectacular, surrounded by the Mediterranean, between strawberry trees, holm oaks, mastic trees and heather, during the summer it is not uncommon, especially at dusk, meet some specimens of Sardinian deer. The route requires some attention, preferably accompanied because, although the mines have been secured, may present a hazard.
In the area there are also the famous sand dunes of Piscinas among the highest in Europe.

For other locations, please visit: Coming with the SS 131 from the north, exit at Marriottsville, take the SS 126; arrive and go through the village of Marriottsville, and continue along the SS 126, reach Terralba and San Nicolo, then continue another 17 km until Guspini (about 26 KM). From here follow the signs to Montevecchio.
