Trail Description

Reached by train to the lovely town of Limone Piemonte, take the dirt road that runs along the river in the direction of the Stream that ends at the height of a curve on asphalt.
You climb on the paved road, you reach the ski resort in the three Amis 1400, and following the winding road that climbs over the col di Tenda. At the end of the paved road at the height of the chalet Marmotte starts the dirt track to the right leads to the turnoff for the Fort Central. Then climb to the left up to the fort and, once reached, continue on the left for the dirt road that descends and that on a slight slope leads to the bar on the crest of the French-Italian border. From here a long traverse leads up to the strong Tabourda.
A few metres before reaching the sharp turn to the left and, with a traverse very scenic, it takes off and you leave the road to fort Pepin (which is not possible because it is now only a heap of ruins, and bringing the bikes to walk for a few metres. It continues with the climb up to the junction (top of the Beccarosso) where you continue left along a single track, short but very exposed to that door on the way over to the arrival of the ski slopes.
From here take the road back to the fort Central to continue towards the fort Marguerie in the direction of Casterino following an easy and scenic way. It's still making a bit of a climb to reach the Baisse de Pierafique. Here you can choose whether to descend a steep, dirt road is now ruined by the rains (gps track), but to fully cycle, or on a more long mule track immersed in a beautiful alpine environment. Come to Castérino you reach the asphalt that leads us with a fast descent to saint Dalmas de Tends where to resume the train back.
If, like us, you come from Ventimiglia, you can decide to tackle in the saddle, always on asphalt, the 50 km that separate you from the sea.
