La presente traccia costituisce parte dell’anello di cui, pertanto si rimanda al predetto link per una descrizione più dettagliata. La variante Casale San Nicola permette di accorciare sensibilmente l’escursione. Percorrendo il sentiero 200 C.A.I., giunti all’incrocio col sentiero 208 che porta a Cerchiara, ci si ritrova sotto il Paretone del Gran Sasso. A questo punto è evidente la carrareccia (munita di apposita indicazione) che scende ripida a Casale San Nicola. Arrivati al paese si prosegue dapprima per Fano a Corno per poi chiudere l’anello ad Isola del Gran Sasso.
E’ doveroso precisare che effettuando questa cesura del tracciato “principe” denominato “Gigante che Dorme” si rinuncia a pedalare forse sul tratto più panoramico e divertente…perciò, se si hanno ancora energie in corpo, il Cinghiale vi consiglia vivamente di proseguire!!!

This track is part of the ring of which, therefore, please refer to the above link for a more detailed description. The variant Casale San Nicola allows you to significantly shorten the hike. Along the path CAI 200, 208 at the crossing with the path that leads to Cerchiara, you reach the Paretone the Gran Sasso. At this point it is clear the cart (equipped with appropriate indication) that descends steeply to Casale San Nicola. On entering the village continue first to Fano in the Horn and then close the loop in Isola del Gran Sasso.
'Should be pointed out that doing this caesura of the track "Prince" called "Sleeping Giant" is given up pedaling perhaps the tract more scenic and fun ... so, if you still have energy in the body, the Boar will strongly recommend that you continue !!!
