Breve giro tra lago Maggiore e di Mergozzo. Arrivando da Gravellona l'inizio dell'itinerario si trova all'incirca di fronte alla "cava" di sabbia.
Inizia con una salita che nella prima e brevissima parte è asfaltata, ma diventa quasi subito sterrata. Dopo poco si trova una piccola frana, in cui bisogna portare la bicicletta.
La strada prosegue su sterrata con fondo sassoso ma tutta pedalabile,
lungo il tragitto si gode di una vista stupenda sull’Ossola.
Non si può sbagliare strada, fino a che si arriva ad uno spiazzo, a questo punto si può fare una puntatina verso un punto panoramico bellissimo,
oppure proseguire direttamente facedo una piccola discesa, dopodiché si riprende la salita che porta fino alla cima. Quest’ultima è abbastanza ripida e sale con rampe fatte in sassi.
Arrivati in cima, ovviamente inizia la discesa. I primi metri sono difficili, quelli dopo sono peggio,
io spingo la bicicletta, ma non escludo che altri la possano fare anche in bici. Io la classificherei molto difficile sia per fondo, sia per pendenza. Purtroppo questo tratto è piuttosto lungo. Dopo un po’ la situazione migliora e ci ritrova a scendere su una strada di sassi abbastanza scassata, fino ad arrivare all’abitato di Montorfano.
Passato il paese si fanno poche decine di metri su strada asfaltata sino a che si trova, sulla sinistra, l’imbocco del sentiero azzurro, che è bellissimo, costeggia tutto il lago di Mergozzo, passando al di sopra della ferrovia.
Seguendo il sentiero azzurro, ad un certo punto si trova un bivio (ben indicato), a destra si va a Mergozzo e a sinistra si torna sulla strada che chiude il giro. Consiglio, avendo tempo, di passare da Mergozzo, che è un paese molto carino, inoltre ci si può fermare a bere una birretta prima di finire il giro.
Arrivando con la A26 Voltri/Gravellona, si prende l'uscita di Gravellona Toce in direzione Verbania, appena passato il ponte sul Toce, si prende sulla sinistra la strada per Mergozzo. L'inizio del percorso si trova circa 700 m dopo l'imbocco di questa strada.

Short tour of Lake Maggiore and Mergozzo. Coming from Gravellona the beginning of the route lies roughly in front of the "cave" of sand.

At the top, of course, the descent begins. The first meters are difficult, since those are worse,
I push the bike, but do not rule out that others can also do on a bike. I rate it very difficult for both the bottom and for the slope. Unfortunately this part is quite long. After a while 'the situation improves and finds us down a road of rocks pretty beat-up, until you reach the village of Montorfano.
Past the country are a few tens of meters of paved road until is located on the left, the trail entrance blue, which is beautiful, along the entire lake Mergozzo, passing over the railway.
following the blue path, at some point there is a fork in the road (well signposted) to the right and to the left you go to Mergozzo you back on the road that closes the circle. Council, having time to switch from Mergozzo, which is a very nice, also you can stop to drink a beer before you finish the round.
Coming from the A26 Voltri / Gravellona, take the exit Gravellona Toce direction Verbania, just past the bridge over the Toce, take the left hand road to Mergozzo. The beginning of the trail is located about 700 m after the entrance of this road.
