Trail Description

Arriviamo a Colle Galluccio. è evidente e ci guida in uno splendido single track. Qui iniziano i problemi. Peppe dietro di me tace.

We had already previously tried to plow through this path from Sasso Cut sinks between the ditches, coming out a Camartina but, due to unforeseen events along the way, we were forced to change "remedial" to close the ring before the sun tramontasse.Risultato Mission to the bankrupt party and that path 103 has stayed with me sideways in the brain. This time we tried it again in the company of two gentlemen with whom I have now made a pact of blood, the couple barbonis / Rewersig. Them whether it is safe to proceed on ahead of you do not pose problems, in fact, more the thing is complicated more go beyond. The departure is scheduled at Borgo di Arquata del Tronto. The climate is almost spring and it is impressive to see the Mount Carrier that slowly undresses her white dress revealing evergreen meadows and rocky cliffs bronze. We climb out of asphalt in the direction of Piedilama taking the steep track leading to Prato Municipality. Here we come to a crossroads. Question: dx to follow the trail that climbs steeply up to the infamous "Jump" or straight pull for Pian Lambs? Some time ago the hunters had warned me that the track leading up to the pass of Colle Galluccio was partly caved in, but did not know the extent of the landslide. Starting to rise, right now we are forced, bike on his shoulder, to climb over a giant landslide that completely occluded the road. The stretch is tough but doable until Pian Lambs where we can finally back in the saddle on the left and proceed bypassing the Colle Malatesta. The cart track is predominantly evacuate snow but sometimes you have to be focused as you ride on ice sheets and just a bit more energy imprinted on the pedals to sit on the floor finish. We arrive at Colle Galluccio. After a short descent which acts as a bridge over the Valley of Pretare and the massif of the Carrier, Peppe stops, and with an eye towards the imposing wall shows me an eagle in flight. Me with the view I get lost in the splendor and already I look to the Forca di Presta which looks menacing ... the wind is rising more and more. We cross the main road and go up on the hill where Pisciano just after a bend to the left incroiciamo a table CAI indicating Colle The EESC. And 'the Path of the Reapers. During the first part we could have needed crampons because I see Reversig transformed into an ice skater. Behind barbonis limps to fatigue of a lamina of ice that reflects sunlight up to blind us. Meanwhile, the Wizard has already taken off, first experience for him in this area, but the effect is always the same ... we remain astonished in front of the beauty of this ancient path. The track which you follow is quite clean except that the points have little exposure to the sun where the snow is porous and therefore slows down our way. In about 45 minutes we come out of the Reapers, we restock the Source of Cacere and face the staircase that leads to the meadows below the Vettoretto. The wind blows cold and especially violent. Shooting the piedmont for Forca di Presta, in correspondence of a wide open space deviamo whole left going to intercept the initial stretch of the path 103 CAI Cut that down by Sasso. The choice is apt as it is not already there have been few energy costs and sincerely go up to Sasso is not necessary (for today). The signage C.A.I. is evident and leads us in a beautiful single track. Sergio meanwhile continues to immortalarci in the descent with a sort of cannon 8 shots per second. We meet the first track that descends from the Col du Fourth, we pull right up to cross again another track that goes directly to the castle of Arquata. Here the problems begin. Barbonis us that we are exactly on track he created himself ... he usually never wrong .... In fact, this time the error is certainly not attributable to us. Both the gps is my card of the Park tell us to go straight, but it just went down to fifty meters, the trail dies in brambles and ancient ruins. Cold shower for the group is forced to lift an uncomfortable with his tail between his legs. Disputes that are understandable move to CAI puffing like buffalo ... we had come specially for this damn 103 and now it's fall back on the dirt track ... even when you begin the descent paths 300m brake suddenly in danger of being overwhelmed by Peppe. I stop, look left and see a large cattle track that descends to the valley .... Peppe and smiles at me without blinking decide to try to go down. Quickly slip down from tratturo but suddenly yet another bitter surprise ... the way he dies in a chestnut. The forces begin scarce but the strength of desperation ... that never fails and when it succeeds is able to make you do things to the limit of the human. Bike on his shoulder again we go back to the dirt track resigned and defeated. A sip of water, down with the saddle and sadly beginning to go down the road "ordinary". Almost I do not want to push more. Peppe behind me silent. But ... here's the unexpected twist !!! I always think that someone up there watching us, protect us and above us repay the efforts we make for love of nature and of the sport. On our left, here it is, this damn 103 that descends into the Fosso della Camartina. Presumably, changes were made to the marked route. Variations that do not correspond to the cards CAI !!! Peppe with a wry smile he whispers, "This Mirco mo 'the fàcemo ..." and I do not even think to tell him "Fuck if not fàcemo !!!". Operated the camera we set off like crazy in a wild descent that winds between chestnut and stony stretches that difficult journey to remind me of the Valley of the Three Saints. The track narrows down to the base of the ditch where it flows a small stream. The forces we are back as if by magic, and now nothing can stop the most spectacular downhill to the village of Camartina. Finally returned to the car, we just have to exchange the customary gesture of understanding to sign our ... yet another exciting venture ...! ... Thanks Sibillini-MTB!
