E' un itinerario tipicamente invernale, che raggiunge la sua massima bellezza quando la neve ha coperto tutta la valle. Si può fare anche d'estate, ma in inverno, sulla neve battuta, è molto, molto divertente e panoramico. Attenzione che per la massima soddisfazione, la neve non deve essere appena caduta, ma già battuta dagli escursionisti da qualche giorno, se nò pedalare risulta molto difficile.
Da Villabassa si sale a Prato Piazza, da Ponticello la strada è completamente innevata e chiusa al traffico privato dopo le 10 del mattino. Dopo un giro sull'altipiano con splendido panorama, si scende per la pista delle slitte con grande divertimento Camping Olympia, fra Villabassa e Dobbiaco in alta val Pusteria, si può raggiungere da Cortina o dall'autostrada del Brennero uscita Bressanone
