E' un itinerario tipicamente invernale, che raggiunge la sua massima bellezza quando la neve ha coperto tutta la valle. Si può fare anche d'estate, ma in inverno, sulla neve battuta, è molto, molto divertente e panoramico. Attenzione che per la massima soddisfazione, la neve non deve essere appena caduta, ma già battuta dagli escursionisti da qualche giorno, se nò pedalare risulta molto difficile.
Se si vuole approfittare al massimo del sole, meglio effettuare il giro in tarda mattinata, nel pomeriggio invece il sole al lago di Dobbiaco è già tramontato Camping olympia, fra Villabassa e Dobbiaco in alta val Pusteria, si può raggiungere da Cortina o dall'autostrada del Brennero uscita Bressanone
