Partenza da Montereale. Si prende la strada per la Valcellina. In questo periodo la vecchia strada che porta al lago è chiusa al transito e quindi per arrivare a Barcis bisogna attraversare 3 gallerie. Prima di raggiungere il paese si svolta sulla sinistra (indicazioni impianti sciistici Piancavallo). Si segue la strada asfaltata seguendo le indicazioni per Portuz. Ad un bivio (sx) inizia la salita su strada sterrata verso C.ra Pala (cartello). Inizialmente la strada con discreta pendenza presenta un fondo compatto. Ad un incrocio bisogna seguire la carrareccia che diventa più impegnativa per la pendenza (10715%) ed il fondo irregolare. Si susseguono una serie di tornanti. Nel periodo invernale è probabile incontrare neve e ghiaccio che rendono ancora più faticosa la pedalata. Non si sale alla C.ra Pala, ma si deve proseguire sulla destra (bivio). Attraverso dei saliscendi si raggiunge l'inzio del sentiero Cai 970. In salita (a piedi) si può arrivare al Ric.C.ra Montelonga (10 minuti). Dal punto precedente inizia la discesa lungo il sentiero Cai 970. A parte alcuni punti interrotti da tronchi di alberi la traccia è pulita e ben battuta. 800 metri di single track a dir poco fantastico! Raggiunta la strada asfaltata si prosegue sulla sinistra, si attraversa un ponte e passando per Barcis si ripercorre parte dell'itinerario fatto all'andata tornando a Montereale Valcellina.

Through the ups and downs we reach the BEGINNING of the path Cai 970.-Up (walk) you can get to Ric.C.ra Montelonga (10 minutes). From the previous point begins the descent down the path Cai 970 Apart from a few points interrupted by tree trunks the track is clean and well beaten. 800 yards of single track nothing short of fantastic! Reaching the paved road go left, cross a bridge and passing Barcis it traces back to the first leg of the route made Montereale.
