Trail Description

ORO BIANCO
Scendiamo a Salsomaggiore
Andiamo a sn vs sud.

Arrivare a Salsomaggiore è molto facile.

WHITE GOLD
It 'a strange title for a bike path, but it has a very specific meaning.
Who loves ancient history, particularly the history of the late Roman and medieval knows that Salsomaggiore, in the past it was important not to the baths, not to miss Italy (modern invention), but for the salt marshes from which it was extracted the salt (white gold for the note). The sea was far away and the possibility of having the rooms close to home gave to the lords of the place a lot of power (and considerable wealth). Hence the need to protect the salt marshes from attacks by neighboring lords.
To protect this wealth were built on the hills surrounding the castles which dominate the surrounding lands. The castles are those of Scipio, Tabiano, Contignaco, Bargone.
The proposed tour aims to touch all these places wandering up and down the hills of Salsomaggiore, with a significant stake just to the salt flats of Salsominore.
Around is quite challenging from a physical point of view, but quiet enough technically.
It is 50-55km walk (depending on variants included) with an altitude of 1200-1300 meters uphill and downhill.
Quickly path
It starts from the center of Salsomaggiore and take the road that leads to p.so of St. Anthony Pellegrino and P.se, Photo Shortly after the junction with the ring road of Salsomaggiore take away Saletti and begins to climb, first on road and then on gravel road and then up a grassy path Sivizzano.
From here we follow the path as indicated by the scenic Alpine dell 'ANA.
It comes out on the road by step tools leads to Tabiano Castle. Tabiano turn to in a long eat and drink on the asphalt until you get to Tabiano Castle. Shortly before the cemetery turn right and, after a brief salitina go down dirt road and we can admire the castle of Tabiano dietro.Abbandoniamo from the road for a short but rocky dirt road move. We turn first to the sn and go down in the woods. With a steep climb we arrive to the city center of Tabiano Castello, near the restaurant and of course the castle. We go to Tabiano Bathrooms for asphalt that we leave after a few meters, for a small path on the right that leads us to get to Tabiano bathrooms through the beautiful parco.Tornati on a paved road near the hotel Fantoni, we come to asphalt in the middle of the country. Pass the Terme turn right and then to left to take a dirt road that takes you back in climbing until you find the paved road. Let's go to left and shortly after we throw in a quick descent on gravel road on the sn-hidden.
Everything you get from the main road that leads to Tabiano Fidenza. Follow the road for about a hundred yards to take a sn on the road that leads to Variatico.
It's a long climb before the asphalt onto the track then that makes us get on the road that leads to the Puget Gorzano. Take right for Gorzano in a relaxing downhill until you reach the signs that indicate Castle Bargone.
A sn of the castle take the dirt road that descends rapidly and leads us with a 'last incline on the road that leads to Salsomaggiore Fidenza via Montauro.
go down in Salsomaggiore
Come in the resort Campore, where, near the Chinese restaurant, take a road that goes up to sn. We go hard path and then dirt road to San ... Rocchino. We walk along a paved piece and then down on the dirt track sprint (rather broken) to the salt pans of Salsominore.
In continuous succession of ascents and descents now we go up to the church of asphalt Salsominore, and then to left on the dirt track ... after a small slope with a tear bad we arrive at the castle of Scipio. We arrive in the ancient village really fascinating.
We're going to find a downhill path in the woods really fun ... ..and come out on the road that leads to the bridge Scipione S.Nicomede. We go north for about 1km and then sn take a path that takes us into the Stirone Park.
Let's sn vs south. After a few hundred meters ... we have to overcome a difficulty.
Need to "see" the deviation to the right that leads us to overcome a concrete artifact that acts as a dam to a tributary Stirone. It comes out in a field and you pass the paved road that leads from Scipione bridge in Castelnuovo F.
Follow the trail of the park.
After that covers the entire path of the park in a tunnel of unique plants, in a continuous slalom shady and cool.
After the 3 locations poplars (great naturalistic interest for the presence of white poplar trees) you will come out ahead all'Agriturimo "Broncarda the" search We take the dirt road to the left and begin the Let
climb Mount Flag and arrive in town and let's Moracchi paved road to La Costa. Let's take a couple of by-pass to the paved road, and arrive in homes Fajeto through picturesque paths.
A Case Fajeto, near a barn that we take a dirt road, before rapidly downhill, and then a steep climb brings us near of a community of prayer. Take a path that is not always so easy ... leads us into places Marzano.
The effort seems over ... no ... .invece
On the right we take a dirt road in a steep descent and then climb steeply up right below the castle Contignaco.La of climb is really tough and, personally, I have to push the bike. ...
Contignaco castle can not be visited, is home to winery that produces great product.
Now we go down to the paved road on the provincial Salty - Pilgrim, we are 3 km from where we started, we can relax ...
.. For info and suggestions / clarifications / accompaniments | Guide Mtb Stefano Alinovi route gps I did from parties of my house. In reality we should start from the car park in front of Terme Zoia. Getting to Salsomaggiore is very easy. Coming from Via Emilia is from Parma to Piacenza, just follow the directions. The same is true for those arriving from the A1.
