Bella escursione in piacevole compagnia di Piero e Paolo con partenza da Bagno risalendo il versante sud-ovest verso il monte Comero, poi le sorgenti del Savio, monte Coronaro Verghereto e rientro a Bagno.
Giornata invernale non troppo rigida alla partenza, foschia con quella nebbiolina che induce alla cautela sulle rocce scivolose.
Dal parcheggio dell'euroterme di Bagno, si imbocca l'asfalto (sp137) in direzione Verghereto: quattro km per scaldarsi e saliamo a sinistra sulla forestale 175 fino a poggio pian dei Riti.
La forestale, molto suggestiva, si inerpica per 3km circa (11% pendenza media) in mezzo ad una bellissima pineta in cui, l'allineamento dei pini, tradisce la mano dell'uomo che li ha piantati...
Qualche km ancora su un tratto più scoperto ci porta all'imbocco della seconda salita della giornata sul 161 che più volte, a causa del fondo e talvolta per il dislivello, ci costringe a spingere la bike. Su quel sentiero salutiamo qualche maiale (brutto periodo per lui il Natale che si avvicina), pecore, mucche e tre pastori maremmani a guardia del gregge che ci incitano sulla salita infangata: mai sentita così poca fatica in salita e mai apprezzato così tanto il filo spinato che ci separava dalle fiere...
Sfiliamo il maestoso monte Comero nascosto dalla nebbia e tocchiamo qui il punto più alto della giornata a 1314m.
Scendiamo lungo la strada bianca per un paio di km per poi imboccare il sentiero 137 fino a colle Biancarda 1186m e poi ancora giù lungo il 141 fino alle sorgenti del Savio. Completiamo una discesa molto divertente fino all'asfalto che ci porta a Monte Coronaro.
Da lì, caliamo ancora a sud e dopo 6km di asfalto che a tratti si alterna a sterrato, arriviamo a Montione dove imbocchiamo il sentiero 173 verso Verghereto.
Ultimo strappo con tratti a spinta (attenzione ai cani in cima alla salita che troviamo legati, grossi e parecchio arrabbiati) fino a Verghereto.
Sfiliamo il paese e proseguiamo ancora un paio di km sullo sterrato risalendo il 173 fino S.Alessio dove arriviamo all'asfalto che ci porterà comodamente in discesa fino a Bagno.
Sicuramente da ripetere anche in stagione asciutta.

Beautiful hike in pleasant company of Peter and Paul starting Bath climbing the south-west towards the mountain Comero, then the sources of Savio, mountain Coronaro Verghereto and return to Bath.
Winter day not too stiff at the start, mist with that haze that makes for caution on the slippery rocks.
From the parking dell'euroterme of Bath, take the asphalt (SP137) towards Verghereto: four kilometers to warm up and climb to the left on the forest floor of the hill up to 175 Rites.
The forest, very impressive, climbs for about 3km (11% average gradient) in the middle of a beautiful pine forest in which the alignment of the pines, betrays the hand of the man who planted them ...
few km still on a stretch discovered leads us to the entrance of the second climb of the day on the 161 that many times, because of the background and sometimes the gap, forcing us to push the bike. On that path we salute a few pigs (bad time for him Christmas approaching), sheep, cows and Maremma to guard the three shepherds of the flock that encourage us on the climb muddy: never felt so little effort uphill and never enjoyed so much the wire fence that separated us from the fairs ...
Unplug the majestic Mount Comero hidden by fog and here we touch the highest point of the day at 1314m.
descend along the dirt road for a few miles and then take the path 137 up to 1186m Biancarda hill and then down again along the 141 to the sources of Savio. We complete a lot of fun down to the asphalt that leads us to Monte Coronaro.
From there, caliamo again and after 6km south of asphalt that sometimes alternates with dirt road, we arrive at Montione where we take the path towards 173 Verghereto.
Last wrench with traits to push (pay attention to the dogs at the top of the hill we find related, large and quite angry) to Verghereto.
Unplug the country and continue a couple of miles up the dirt road going up the 173 S .Alessio where we get to the asphalt that will take us comfortably downhill to Bath.
Definitely to be repeated even in the dry season.
