SCHEDA TECNICA:
Verso AO - L= 57 Km – Disl. 1700 - Quote min/Max = 430/1400 – Tempo St.: ore 5:30 min Ciclabilità temporale 95% – GD=70 MEDIO/DIFF.
NOTE:
1) abbiamo percorso questo giro il 30 nov: vi sconsigliamo di fare altrettanto; la stagione ideale è l’inizio estate (per la rigogliosa fioritura) o ad inizio autunno (Sett./Ott.) per il magico colore dei boschi.
2) Si può fare un "taglio" che riduce un tratto di salita impegnativa in Val Nuvola (370 m di dislivello) ed elimina l’impervia discesa del Colle del Croato (circa 500 m a piedi); dal wp D q. 984 al wp J si percorre una facile forestale con brevi saliscendi, senza problemi di orientamento.
DESCRIZIONE:
Dal Parcheggio del bar di Pian Del Vescovo si sale verso Lamon e poi per Piei dove si chiuderà l’anello del giro. Da qui (fontana) inizia la lunga ma moderata salita asfaltata che porta a San Donato in Valnuvola.
Dalla fontana di San Donato, inizia il lungo sterrato (antica strada della Valnuvola) che con innumerevoli tornanti arriva al Passo del Brocon.
A quota 984 si trova il bivio di cui alla Nota 2); se non tagliate, proseguite fino a quota 1353 dove il sentiero da seguire si stacca sulla sx. La vista sulle incombenti parti rocciose è suggestiva ma il panorama che a tratti si apre sulla Valnuvola e sul versante ovest del monte Coppolo è impareggiabile.
Terminato il lungo traverso che taglia le pendici del monte Agaro, si giunge a nord del Colle del Croato; la discesa inizia con una bella stradina che però bisogna presto lasciare per un collegamento non ciclabile alla strada di Coronini: 100 m giù per il ripido pendio, poi si piega a sx; poi 200 m da fare con attenzione su stretto sentiero; svolta a dx ed altri 200 m da fare prudentemente a piedi; infine il sentiero si allarga ed a parte lo scavalcamento di alcuni tronchi, diventa ben ciclabile fino alla confluenza con la strada per Coronini; da qui si arriva presto al bivio wp J dove il percorso si congiunge con il taglio di cui già detto (Nota 2). Stupendo il successivo tratto scavato nella parete rocciosa strapiombante; a tornantini ci si abbassa fino alla valletta della Cascatella (area picnic molto frequentata nelle domeniche estive). Una dura rampa ci riporta al bivio Roa-Brocon, poi discesa fino alla periferia di Castel Tesino, su cui ci si tiene alti. Si confluisce sulla strada per Celado che si tiene per poco più di un Km, poi la si lascia per una bella forestale che risale le pendici nord del Monte Picosta.
Al bivio wp N 1360, si potrebbe iniziare la lunga discesa ma non si può proprio rinunciare ad una digressione al panoramico crinale del monte Picosta (q. 1400). Al ritorno ci aspetta una lunghissima discesa; bella e veloce fino al punto P ed assai tecnica (tratti a piedi per i non abilissimi) fino al borgo di Chiappini (vedi tabelle). Dopo Chiappini la stretta stradina (a tratti asfaltata) consente un facile rientro sulla “principale” di ARINA. Altre serie di tornanti e si scende al ponte sul T. Senaiga (q. min 430) da cui bisogna risalire fino a Piei; qui si chiude l’anello; una veloce discesa e si ritrova il park di Pian del Vescovo.
Dalla SS Feltrina di prende la nuova tangenziale sud di FELTRE e se ne esce allo svicolo di Fonzaso, seguendo ind. Fiera di Primiero-San Martino di Castrozza. Subito dopo Ponte Serra, si svolta a sx (ind. LAMON); ancora circa 2 Km e si arriva al parcheggio (sulla sx) nei pressi di un bar (bevetevi un caffè e chiedete il permesso di lasciare l’auto ….non vi verrà negato).

NOTE:
1) we have come this tour November 30: we do not recommend to do the same; the ideal season is the beginning of summer (for the lush flowering) or early fall (Sept. / Oct.) to the magical color of the woods.
2) You can make a "cut" that reduces a part of the climb challenging in Val Nuvola (370 m altitude) and eliminates the arduous descent of the Col du Croatian (about 500 foot); from wp D q. 984 to wp J navigating a simple forest with short ups and downs, no orientation problems.
DESCRIPTION: From the parking lot of the bar
Pian Del Vescovo up towards Lamon and then Piei where you close the ring around . From here (fountain) begins the long but moderate ascent asphalt that leads to San Donato in Valnuvola.
From the fountain of San Donato begins the long dirt road (the old road Valnuvola) that comes with innumerable twists to the Passo del Brocon. < br> At an altitude of 984 is the turnoff referred to in Note 2); if not cut, continue to share in 1353 to follow where the path branches off to the left. The view of the incumbent party rock is impressive but the view that sometimes opens on Valnuvola and on the west side of the mountain Coppolo is unmatched.
After the long traverse that cuts the slopes of Mount Agaro, we come to the north of Col Croatian; the descent begins with a nice street but you have to leave soon for a link not cycle the road of Coronini: 100 m down the steep slope, then bends to the left; then 200 m to do with attention on the narrow path; turn right and another 200 m to do cautiously on foot; Finally, the path widens and apart from the climbing of a few logs, it becomes well path to the junction with the road to Coronini; from here you arrive early at the junction J wp where the trail joins with the cut you already said (Note 2). Superb the next leg dug into the cliff overhanging; hairpins to us is lowered to the valley of the Cascatella (picnic area very crowded on summer Sundays). A ramp takes us back to the fork-Roa Brocon, then down to the outskirts of Castel Tesino, of which we keep you high. It flows on the road to Celado held for little more than one kilometer, then you leave it for a beautiful forest that climbs up the northern slopes of Monte Picosta.
At the junction wp N 1360, you could start the long descent but not you can not just give up a digression on the panoramic ridge of the mountain Picosta (q. 1400). In return we expect a long descent; nice and quick to the point P and very technical (whether on foot for non-skilled) to the village of Chiappini (see tables). After Chiappini the narrow road (sometimes paved) allows easy re-entry on the "main" of ARINA. Other series of switchbacks and down the bridge on T. Senaiga (q. 430 min) from which we must go back to Piei; here quits the ring; a fast descent and is found in the park Pian del Vescovo.
From SS Feltrina to take the new ring road south of Feltre and it comes out at the highway junction of Fonzaso, following ind. Fair Primiero-San Martino di Castrozza. Immediately after Ponte Serra, turn left (ind. LAMON); still about 2 km and you will arrive at the car park (on the left) near a bar (bevetevi a coffee and ask permission to leave the car ... do not you will be denied).
