Itinerario molto vario in un bellissimo ambiente montano. Noi lo abbiamo fatto il 29 ottobre con splendidi colori autunnali.
Partenza dal passo del Tomarlo, si segue la sp 654 in direzione Parma per circa 2km, poi si prende sulla sx una sterrata che sale ripida in direzione Prato Grande. Da Prato Grande (rifugio in ristrutturazione) si punta verso la vecchia pista di sci seguento il segnavia bianco-rosso del sentiero 821. Si giunge ad una sella con un quadrivio (quota 1670 circa), si segue quindi l'indicazione per il Monte Bue/Prato della Cipolla. In breve su rampe molto ripide, con tratti a spinta (chi ha gamba forse sale in sella...) si arriva ad un nuovo quadrivio. Noi abbiamo puntato in direzione del Prato della Cipolla (bar delle piste aperto in alta stagione) seguendo in ripida, ma facile discesa, la pista da sci. Dal Prato della Cipolla inizia il pezzo più bello: il sentiero verso il rifugio Astass e poi verso il Monte Groppo Rosso è immerso in una bella faggeta su ottimo fondo sterrato. La sosta sul Groppo Rosso è d'obbilgo prima di iniziare la bella discesa verso Roncolongo tecnica ma mai veramente difficile (chi ha manico la fa tutta in sella, noi in qualche punto abbiamo messo il piede a terra). Giunti alla fine della discesa si incontra la strada asfaltata che collega Santo Stefano a Roncolongo ed alla Rocca d'Aveto.
Chi vuole chiudere l'anello (scelta consigliata) può salire alla Rocca e ritornare al punto di partenza tramite una bella sterrata che parte poco sopra la partenza della seggiovia.
Noi invece, muniti di una seconda auto per rientrare al Tomarlo, siamo scesi a Santo Stefano ed abbiamo percorso un piacevole, facile sentiero che collega Santo Stefano ad Allegrezze. Il sentiero si imbocca subito usciti dal paese, al primo bivio a sx dopo la chesa. Il Passo del Tomarlo è posto sulla sp654 a circa 8km da Santo Stefano D'Aveto in corrispondenza del confine tra Liguria ed Emilia Romagna.
Extremely varied tour in a beautiful mountain environment. We did it on Oct. 29 with gorgeous autumnal colors.
Out by the passage of Tomarlo, follow the direction sp 654 in Parma for about 2km, then take a left on the dirt road that climbs steeply towards Prato Grande. Da Prato Grande (refuge under renovation) is pointing to the old ski-white-red seguento the trail of the path 821 This leads to a saddle with a crossroads (altitude 1670), then follow the signs for the Monte Bue / Prato della Cipolla. In short, on very steep ramps, with sections thrust (who has leg perhaps climb aboard ...) we arrive at a new crossroads. We pointed at the Prato della Cipolla (bar the slopes open in high season) following a steep but easy descent, the ski slope. From Prato della Cipolla begins the most beautiful piece: the path to the shelter Astass and then to the Monte Groppo Rosso is set in a beautiful beech forest on good gravel roads. The stop on the Red Groppo is of obbilgo before starting the long descent towards Roncolongo technique but never really difficult (who handle does it all in the saddle, we at some point we put the foot on the ground). At the end of the descent meets the paved road that connects Santo Stefano in Roncolongo and the Rocca d'Aveto.
Who wants to close the loop (recommended) can climb to the fortress and return to the starting point via a beautiful dirt that part just above the chair lift.
We, however, having a second car to return to Tomarlo, we went down to St. Stephen and we have traveled a nice, easy trail that connects Santo Stefano to Allegrezze. The path you take immediately left the village, turn left at the first junction after the chesa. Pass Tomarlo is placed on the sp654 about 8km from Santo Stefano D'Aveto at the border between Liguria and Emilia Romagna.
