NOTE:
1) Tutto il percorso è ben riconoscibile sulla carta Tabacco 041
2) Lasciato Torreano non troverete alcun luogo di ristoro, salvo una fontana nella frazione di Masarolis (q.670)
3) Unico tratto pericoloso è la discesa su sentiero (wp K- wp L) di circa 700 m (massi, canalette da erosione) che solo i più abili potranno fare in sella.
4) All’inizio della discesa finale (wp N) troverete un divieto a tutti i veicoli (bici incluse) causa smottamento: non badateci, il cartello è li dal 2008 mentre la strada è stata perfettamente sistemata. Più avanti, anche un cartello “inizio cantiere” sembra dimenticato!
DESCRIZIONE :
Si parte dal piazzale del cimitero di MONTINA, a nord del paese (fontana) e su asfalto si arriva a TORREANO (bar); da qui inizia una bellissima forestale a pendenza moderata e costante salvo alcuni brevi stappi cementati. Poi si guadagna quota su stradine asfaltate e traffico “zero”. Nella frazione di Masarolis c’è una bella fontana dove è meglio rifornirsi. Ancora un po’di asfalto, poi il panorama si apre, uscendo dal bosco. Giunti sul crinale del monte Clabuch (wp F q.950) inizia l’aggiramento antiorario del Monte Joanaz: si scende di 70 m sul versante est, poi si ricomincia a salire sul versante nord e poi ovest (l’ultimo tratto, pur con pendenza non eccessiva, risulta assai faticoso per il terreno sconnesso).
Si arriva così alla base della dorsale sud del monte Joanaz; la si risale senza difficoltà anche perché appagati da un panorama sempre più maestoso. Si consiglia di non arrivare a fine strada
(che porta a ridosso della cima, non raggiungibile i bici e non panoramica) ma di fermarsi sul punto indicato nella traccia (20 m più basso) . Il panorama qui è eccezionale: verso nord il Monte Canin (q.2590) imbiancato di neve, verso est il Matajur (1640) e verso nord-ovest la catena dei monti Musi.
Bella la lunga discesa fino alla Madonna del Domm; poi un tratto di sentiero (vedi nota 3) quindi una forestale, in autunno coperta di foglie. Man mano che si scende il fondo va migliorando e nell’ultima forestale (vedi nota 4) i punti più ripidi (tratto finale) sono cementati.
Percorrendo l'autostrada A28, si esce ad Udine Sud e si seguono ind. per CIVIDALE;
All’inizio della città si trova ind. a sx per MONTINA; attraversato il paese, verso nord, si arriva all’ampio piazzale del cimitero.

NOTE:
1) Entire route is easily recognizable on the card Tobacco 041
2) Let Torreano will not find any place to eat, except for a fountain in the village of Masarolis (q.670)
3) Unique dangerous stretch is the descent path (wp wp K L) of about 700 m (boulders , channels from erosion) that only the most skilled will be able to do in the saddle.
4) At the beginning of the final descent (wp N) there is a ban on all vehicles (bikes included) due to landslide: Do not pay attention to it, the sign is them since 2008 while the road was perfectly arranged. Later, also a sign "beginning construction" seems forgotten!
DESCRIPTION:
It starts from the square of the cemetery MONTINA, to the north of the country (fountain) and on asphalt you get to TORREANO (bar); From here begins a beautiful forest to moderate slope and constant except for a few short uncork cemented. Then you earn share of asphalted roads and traffic "zero". The population of Masarolis there is a beautiful fountain where it is best to stock up. Still a bit of asphalt, then the landscape opens out of the woods. Once on the ridge of the mountain Clabuch (wp q.950 F) starts the circumvention of Mount counterclockwise Joanaz: it comes down to 70 m on the east side, then it starts to rise again on the north and then west (the last stretch, even with slope is not excessive, it is very tiring for the uneven terrain).
So we arrive at the base of the ridge south of Mount Joanaz; the climb without difficulty because satisfied by a landscape more and more majestic. We recommend that you do not get to the end of the road
(which leads close to the top, does not reach the bike and not panoramic), but stopping at the point indicated in the track (20 m lower). The landscape here is exceptional: towards the north Monte Canin (q.2590) whitened with snow, to the east Matajur (1640) and north-west the chain of mountains Musi. Photos: Beautiful long descent to the Madonna del Domm ; then a section of trail (see Note 3) then a forest in autumn covered with leaves. As you go down the bottom and is improving in the last forest (see note 4), the steepest points (final part) are cemented.
Along the motorway A28, exit at Udine Sud and follow ind. for CIVIDALE;
the beginning of the city is ind. left to MONTINA; through the village, to the north, you get the large square at the cemetery.
