Non è facile raccontare le emozioni di questo giro pensato da tempo, progettato, studiato, pianificato, ...... sconsigliato (!) ed infine realizzato in una fredda domenica di metà novembre. E' un percorso di cicloalpinismo per esperti della montagna, molto impegnativo e faticoso, certamente il più affascinante dell'intera catena. La vetta più alta dei Monti Sibillini, il Vettore (2476 m.), si raggiunge - non senza difficoltà - in tre ore partendo dal valico di Forca di Presta (1530 m.). Dalla sua cima inizia il mitico sentiero n° 131 che taglia tutto il fianco orientale della montagna fino ad arrivare alla chiesetta di Santa Maria in Pantano (1180 m.). L'itinerario attraversa i grandi imbuti del Vettore (Fosso di Colleluce, Fosso di Casale, Fosso dell'Orinale) in ambienti grandiosi dominati da panorami spettacolari. Bisogna assolutamente fare attenzione nel superare i frequenti passaggi esposti in quanto il sentiero è stretto, sporco e sospeso di quasi 1500 metri rispetto alle valli sottostanti. Si consiglia anche di evitare giornate ventose ed umide ed anche periodi con eccessiva presenza di escursionisti in cresta per il pericolo di caduta sassi dall'alto. Una volta arrivati a Santa Maria in Pantano (una delle chiese rurali più antiche del Piceno) si ritorna a Forca di Presta col Sentiero dei Mietitori, otto chilometri di saliscendi quasi tutti nel bosco.

It is also recommended to avoid windy and wet periods with excessive and also the presence of hikers on the ridge to the danger of falling rocks from above. Once you arrive in Santa Maria in Pantano (one of the oldest rural churches Piceno) returns you to Forca di Presta with the Path of the Reapers, eight miles of ups and downs almost all in the woods.
