Dal Santuario di Macereto si sale per il sentiero che attraversa i pascoli delle Vaglie e delle Arette. Poco dopo il valico si continua nel bosco fino ad incrociare la strada che da Casali sale al Fargno. A quota 1790 m. si svolta a sinistra per il sentiero che, iniziando dalla Banditella, taglia tutto il fianco settentrionale di Croce di Monte Rotondo. Dai Piani di Pao il sentiero prosegue poi dentro il bosco diventando ripido e sassoso fino a riaddolcirsi nuovamente tra i panoramici pascoli dell'altopiano di Macereto, ormai in vista del suo famoso santuario.

From the Sanctuary of Macereto go up the path through the pastures of the Vaglie and Arette. Shortly after the pass continues into the woods until you cross the road from Casali rises to Fargno. At an altitude of 1790 m. turn left on the path, starting from Banditella, cuts across the northern flank of the Cross of Monte Rotondo. Plans of Pao, the trail leads into the woods then becoming steep and rocky to riaddolcirsi again among the scenic highland pastures of Macereto, within sight of the famous sanctuary.
