NOTE:
La ormai famosa (grazie ad una tappa del giro d’Italia) salita del Monte Zoncolan da Ovaro è qui abbinata alla meno nota ma non meno bella discesa dal Monte Arvenis.
Notevole ed assai panoramico è il tratto in alta quota (strada delle malghe) che collega i due monti con una serie di impegnativi saliscendi ed un traverso sul versante sud dell’Arvenis (tra malga Meleit e M.ga Claupa) che richiede attenzione e qualche tratto a piedi..
DESCRIZIONE : Da Ovaro a Liaris la salita è tranquilla, ottima per il riscaldamento, dopo però, le rampe al 15% non daranno respiro se non, oltre quota 1500, quando si esce dal bosco.
Verso la fine della salita si attraversano anche 2 gallerie, poi si guadagna la vetta del Monte Zoncolan q. 1730, (massima quota del percorso). Inizia la strada delle malge: Tamai. Meleit, Claupa (q.1634); da questa una lunga e ripida discesa, passando per malga Arvenutis e poi, ritrovato l’asfalto, giù fino a Lenzone e poco dopo ad Ovaro.
Percorrendo l'autostrada A28, da Udune verso Tarvisio, si esce allo svincolo di CARNIA-TOLMEZZO.
Poco prima di Tolmezzo si svolta a sx per Villa Santina e, qui giunti, si prosegue sulla SS 355, per circa 10 Km; ad un incrocio si svolta a dx per il vicino parcheggio nel centro di OVARO

NOTE:
The now famous (thanks to a stage of the Tour of Italy) climb of the Monte Zoncolan from Ovaro is here combined with the lesser-known but no less beautiful descent from Mount Arvenis.
remarkable and very scenic stretch is at high altitude (road of huts) that connects the two mountains with a variety of challenging ups and downs and a cross on the south side dell'Arvenis (between Alm and Meleit M.ga Claupa) that requires attention and some distance on foot ..
DESCRIPTION : From Ovaro to Liaris the climb is quiet, perfect for warming, but after the ramps to 15% if you do not give breath, over 1500 m altitude, when you come out of the woods.
Towards the end of the climb through even 2 galleries, then you gain the summit of Monte Zoncolan q. 1730 (peak altitude of the route). Start your way of Malge: Tamai. Meleit, Claupa (q.1634); from this a long, steep descent, passing through alpine pasture Arvenutis and then regained the asphalt, down to Lenzone and shortly after Ovaro.
Driving along the A28 motorway, from Udune towards Tarvisio, exit at junction of CARNIA -TOLMEZZO.
Tolmezzo Just before you turn left to Villa Santina, and come here, continue on SS 355 for about 10 km; at an intersection, turn right to the parking lot near the center of OVARO
