L'itinerario proposto è veramente un pezzo di storia.
L'escursione percorre interamente la tappa Fidenza-Fornovo, meglio Fornovo-Fidenza, del tracciato della Via Francigena.
La Via Francigena è la via che nel 900dc l'arcivescovo di Canterbury, Sigerico, percorse salendo da Roma verso l'Inghilterra . La via è stata ridisegnata e "messa in sicurezza" negli anni scorsi da parte del ministero dei beni culturali. L'itinerario, oltre che da questo sito è scaricabile anche dal sito dell'Associazione Europea delle Vie Francigene.
Il percorso parte dalla pieve romanica di S.Maria Assunta in Fornovo (da visitare assolutamente), e attraverso i sentieri del Parco del Taro giunge a Felegara. Poi sale sulla costa e attraverso un bel percorso fatto di strade bianche e sentieri arriva a Medesano. Poi si va per vie traverse, scavalcando coste successive, in un su e giù divertente, fra guadi e vigneti verso Cella di Noceto, Medesano e poi verso le frazioni di Siccomonte e Cabriolo. Un ultimo colpo di pedale e siamo all'arrivo davanti al duomo di Fidenza.
Il percorso è un tripudio di storia e di bellezze artistiche: La pieve di Fornovo, S.Maria del Gisolo, la pieve romanica e commanderia templare di Cabriolo e ultimo ma non ultimo il duomo antelamico di Fidenza.
In definitiva un bel percorso valido sotto tutti gli aspetti. La partenza è situata davanti alla pieve romanica di Fornovo. Nei pressi sul lungo taro è possibile parcheggiare comodamente, altrimenti è possibile lasciare l'auto al foro boario (già sul percorso...a pochi metri). Per arrivare a Fornovo si può approfittare dell'uscita omonima autostradale sulla A15 Parma -La Spezia. Per chi proviene da Parma si arriva a Fornovo passando da Collecchio, e per chi viene da Fidenza si percorre la pedemontana fino nei pressi Noceto e poi si prende la statale che poi va verso il passo della Cisa. Per chi arriva dalla Via Emilia, si seguono le indicazioni per Noceto-Fornovo (A15) . A Fornovo c'è anche la stazione ferroviaria sulla linea Fidenza Fornovo. E' sicuramente comodo per chi non vuole rientrare in bici approfittare del mezzo pubblico. E' indispensabile visionare per tempo gli orari.

The proposed itinerary is truly a piece of history.
The hike along the entire stage-Fornovo Fidenza, Fidenza-best Fornovo, the route of the Via Francigena.
The Via Francigena 900dc is the way in which the Archbishop of Canterbury, Sigerico, traveled north from Rome to England. The route was redesigned and "made safe" in recent years by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage. The route, as well as this site is downloaded from the website of the European Association of the Via Francigena.
The route starts from the Romanesque church of Santa Maria Assunta in Fornovo (well worth visiting), and through the trails of the Park Taro comes to Felegara. Then salt on the coast and through a beautiful path made of gravel roads and trails come to Medesano. Then you go through the back door, bypassing the coasts later, in an up and down fun, between fords and vineyards towards cell NOCETO, Medesano and then towards the villages of Siccomonte and Cabriolo. One last pedal stroke and we arrival in front of the cathedral of Fidenza.
The path is full of history and artistic treasures: The parish church of Fornovo, Santa Maria del Gisolo, the Romanesque church and Templar Commandery of Cabriolo and last but not least the cathedral of Fidenza Antelami.
Ultimately quite a valid path in all respects. The starting point is located in front of the parish church of Fornovo. Near the taro long you can park comfortably, otherwise you can leave your car at the cattle market (already on the way ... a few meters). To get to Fornovo you can take advantage of the output of the same name on the A15 motorway Parma -The Spezia. Coming from Parma will get to Fornovo going from Collecchio, and for those coming from Fidenza to go along the foothills near NOCETO and then take the road which then goes towards the Cisa pass. Coming from the Via Emilia, follow the signs for NOCETO-Fornovo (A15). A Fornovo there is also a railway station on the Fidenza Fornovo. And 'certainly convenient for those who do not want to enter the bike to take advantage of public transport. E 'essential view for long times.
