Senso unico – km 64 – dislivello 1700m. – Altezza min.640m / max.2335m
Volendo non caricare troppo il giro, si può portare l'auto a Dronero o S.Damiano come da traccia. Tale scelta si effettuerà per rendere il giro più breve ( noi abbiamo portato l'auto a S.Damiano e rientrati a Ponte Marmora alla Gentil Locanda in autobus).
Partendo da Ponte Marmora si scende 1 km sulla provinciale in direzione Dronero e all'altezza del campeggio, si prende la strada a sx in direzione Elva. Si percorre così l'asfaltata caratterizzata dalla vista del cosiddetto orrido del vallone di Elva, dove la strada corre molto in alto rispetto all'alvo del fiume offrendo scorci vertiginosi e bucando in più punti la montagna. Dopo 10 km si raggiunge il pittoresco paesino di Elva che merita una visita e si prosegue verso il passo Sampeyre che si raggiunge dopo 17 km dalla partenza. Da qui sulla dx parte la strada dei cannoni che sale ancora per 100m di dislivello su un lungo traverso con vista sulla val Maira fino alla bassa dell'Ajet. Quindi si lascia andare la bici fino al colle del Birrone (m1700). Volendo si può scendere a S.Damiano direttamente dallo sterrato che scende a dx . La traccia invece sale in falso piano per altri 100m fino al colle della Ciabra. Inizia quindi l'asfalto che porta fino a Passo Pianpietro a quota 1354m, poi si riprende lo sterrato sulla dx che attraverso il bosco porta a Villar San Costanzo. In discesa su asfalto si raggiunge Dronero dove si prosegue a dx raggiunta la provinciale in direzione Acceglio. Per evitare un tratto di provinciale trafficata, dopo la zona industriale, si svolta a sx per Tetti e, superato il paese stesso prima e Cartigliano poi, si riprende l'asfalto che in pochi km ci porta fino a S.Damiano.
Volendo raggiungere Ponte Marmora si devono percorrere ancora 16km e 200m di dislivello.
Un'altra variante che ci fa accorciare il giro è svoltare a dx poco prima del passo Pianpietro (Wp01) che porta in salita fino al passo Valmala a quota 1539m per scendere poi su sterrato fino a Roccabruna e poi su asfalto fino alla provinciale.

Wanting to not use too much around, you can bring your car in Dronfield or S.Damiano like to track. This choice will be made to make the ride shorter (we brought the car back to San Damiano and the Ponte Marmora Gentil Locanda bus).
Starting from Ponte Marmora you go down 1 km on the road in the direction Dronfield and the height of the campsite, take the road left towards Elva. It runs thus paved characterized by the view of the ravine called the valley of Elva, where the road runs very high compared all'alvo offering glimpses of the river at several points dizzy and puncturing the mountain. After 10 km you will reach the picturesque town of Elva worth a visit and go to the step Sampeyre which is reached after 17 km from the start. From here the road on the right side of the guns that climb for 100m in altitude on a long traverse overlooking the val Maira until low dell'Ajet. Then you let go of the bike up the hill to the Birrone (M1700). If you want you can go down to San Damiano directly from the dirt road that descends to the right. The track instead of salt in the false floor for another 100m up the hill to the Desmentioura. Then begins the asphalt leading up to Pianpietro Pass at an altitude of 1354m, then take a right on the dirt road that leads through the woods in Villar San Costanzo. Downhill on asphalt is reached Dronfield where you continue on the right reached the road in the direction Acceglio. To avoid a stretch of provincial traffic, after the industrial area, turn left for Roofs and passed the same country before and Cartigliano then resumes the asphalt in a few miles brings us up to San Damiano.
Wanting to reach Ponte Marmora you still have to travel 16km and 200m in altitude.
Another variation that makes us shorten the ride is turn right just before the step Pianpietro (WP01) that leads uphill to the pass at an altitude of 1539m Valmala then goes down a dirt road to Roquebrune and then on to the provincial asphalt.
