Partenza dal paese di Baceno
. Si sale lungo la strada asfaltata in direzione Goglio e dopo aver attraversato il secondo ponte sul fiume si segue la segnaletica per Esigo
. La strada sale con alcune rampe dalle pendenze impegnative fino alla frazione Esigo, quindi dopo alcuni tornanti sterrati fare attenzione al cartello sulla sinistra che indica l'inizio della via degli scoiattoli. Prima parte abbastanza tecnica, seconda parte molto filante
fino a raggiungere Cravegna. Da qui si raggiunge tramite strada asfaltata Baceno.
