Trail Description

Route to be counted in the top ten of Abruzzo because of the great views it offers, in particular the "lunar" landscape in which we are immersed since the Majella is a massive limestone clear that "rests", but ' on clay soil. It really seems to be on the moon, when leavened the cable car station of Campo di Giove Guado di Coccia and well exceeded 700m in altitude in total portage, we finally reach the Round Table. Descended to the Fund of Female Life, take the homonymous valley follow it until the deviation to the right for the Cave Canosa. Cross the saddle Cave Canosa to the peak of Mount Amaro where you can enjoy a unique view. The route of descent and the same as the climb up to the saddle Cave Canosa where it veers to the Plan Amaro. At this point we follow the "cairns" that go down to the The Cut. And 'the ancient name of the Valley of Taranta, a great fissure that deeply affects over seven kilometers on the eastern side of the Majella. It originated in the Saddle Macellaro, small depression located between Mount and the Cave Macellaro Canosa. The valley offers a natural environment that includes karst formations, rare plants and fauna detail. There are numerous open cavities such as the cave of the Donkey, the Ox and the tourist cave in the Wave. We go on a lot of flow path without marking CAI but still clearly visible, we get around to the right of the altar Stincone evocative and galvanizing continue the descent. Passed a jump rock you come to an old source and continue left until you intercept a CAI that halfway flies over the Grotte del Cavallone, meeting in the final, crossing over the Refuge Source Tarì and thus leaves the Valley of Taranta. The glideslope Lama Peligni is a real buzz. Start winding and narrow, winding through green meadows with a swirl of twists and an earthy background well beaten but not without some danger. Further downstream the rock takes over, the slope is steeper and the technical difficulties increase. A trail that is a fantastic mix of nature, landscapes and fun, all concentrated in a negative slope of about 900m to scream.
