Alte Stellungen, Kavernenen, Straßen. Nur vom Giftgas ist nichts mehr zu sehen oder zu riechen – aber darüber schweigen die Österreicher lieber. Wir folgen gleich einmal der alten Kriegsstraßen auf den Stol - unserem ersten Etappenziel. In Serpentinen schraubt man sich mit konstanter Steigung fast 1.400 Hm hinauf auf den Stol. Immer schön im Rhythmus. Die Straße aus dem ersten Weltkrieg weist einen sehr guten Zustand auf. Allerdings ist der sehr grobe Schotter extrem kräfteraubend. Die Abfahrt beginnt entlang des Rückens – irgendetwas zwischen Single Trail und Forststraße. Ein alter Ziegenbock will es auch noch einmal wissen und gibt erst klein bei, als wir die Bremsen lockern. Alles in allen eine sehr lohnden aber auch anspruchsvolle Tour für die man die notwendige Zeit einrechnen sollte. Obwohl nicht zuviele Kilometer anfallen braucht es Zeit sich durch den groben Schotter auf den Stol zu schrauben.
