Si parte dal lago Pantano di Pignola, lasciando l'auto nei pressi dell'oasi del WWF.
Si comincia subito a salire verso Fossa Cupa fino a raggiungere la Madonna del Sasso, quindi si prosegue verso le piste da sci di Sasso di Castalda. La parte iniziale e finale della salita sono su asfalto, il resto sterrato.
Si attraversano le piste giungendo dall'altro versante della montagna sulle piste di Pierfaone fino all'imbocco del tracciato 5 del bike park. Si comincia finalmente a scendere percorrendo un breve tratto del tracciato, ad un certo punto lo si lascia, girando sulla sinistra e si taglia a piedi nel bosco fino a raggiungere la discesa dei salti. Il percorso è su terra, attenzione agli abbondanti rami spezzati sul terreno.
La discesa procede nel bosco e porta su una breve sterrata che si ricongiunge su Fossa Cupa nei pressi nella fontana.
Quindi si torna giù verso il Pantano.
