PREMESSA
Itinerario ad elevata gradazione alcolica. Percorre infatti strade e piste ciclabili a cavallo dei rilievi collinari situati alle spalle di centri famosi per la produzioni vinicola quali Cormons e Capriva del Friuli. Se si esclude la salita al Monte Quarin , il percorso qui descritto è adatto praticamente a tutti. Sfrutta infatti alcuni tratti delle nuovissime piste ciclabili (25 km su sede riservata e fondo in materiale eco-compatibile) che percorrono in lungo e in largo la valle del Preval ed il Collio . Il sistema viario è curato dalla Provincia di Gorizia e prende il nome di "Slow Collio, un paesaggio da bere". Il progetto comprende anche alcune aree sosta camper nei comuni di Mossa , Capriva del Friuli e Cormons.
Tra i luoghi toccati o sfiorati da segnalare la chiesetta di S. Marco , l'amena località della Subida con la sua chiesetta , il Santuario della B. Vergine del Soccorso , Villa Russiz (con la nota azienda vinicola), il castello di Spessa (con annesso campo di golf), i ruderi del castello del Monte Quarin , il parco di Plessiva.
Ovviamente, oltre che dalle bellezze naturali e storiche di questa zona, l'escursionista non potrà non essere attratto dalla possibilità di degustare i pregiati vini locali e la gastronomia tipica, sintesi e incrocio delle culture italiana, slovena e tedesca.
