La gita prende il nome dal monte Kumeta, ma effettivamente si tratta di una traversata delle montagne che separano la conca di San Giuseppe Iato da Palermo. Il primo tratto richiede numerosi passaggi di portage in quanto il sentiero e' inizialmente molto ripido con gradini. Successivamente si allarga e si attraversano i pascoli di Cannavera, sembra quasi di essere in Svizzera. La seconda parte del giro, dopo l'attraversamento della viabilita' Palermo-Sciacca, porta infine in cima del Monte Kumeta. Volendo si potrebbero anche fare delle deviazioni sul monte Pizzuto e soprattutto sui resti dell'Antica Iata sopra San Giuseppe, storicamente molto interessanti e anche raggiungibili su singletrack pedalabile da San Giuseppe.

The tour takes its name from the mountain Kumeta, but actually it is a crossing of the mountains that separate the basin of San Giuseppe Jato from Palermo. The first part requires several steps of how portage in the path and 'initially very steep with steps. Then it widens and across meadows of Cannavera, it almost seems to be in Switzerland. The second part of the tour, after the crossing of the road 'Palermo-Sciacca, eventually leads to the summit of Mount Kumeta. If you want you could also make detours on the mountain Pizzuto and especially on the remains of ancient Iata above St. Joseph, historically very interesting and also reached on singletrack pedaled from San Giuseppe.
