Von Bad Hofgastein (Friedhof) geht es kurz steil bergan zum Gasteiner Höhenweg. Hier ist zwar ein Fahrverbot für Biker, der Weg ist jedoch wirklich sehenswert. Wer in dennoch befährt sollte Zeiten wählen, an denen nicht viel los ist (keine Wochenenden oder eher Abends), da der Weg sehr schmal ist. Außerdem ist vorsicht beim Biken geboten, da bei Gegenverkehr der Platz auch mal eng werden kann. Der Steig selbst läuft ca. 7 km mit wenigen leichten Steigungen dahin. Am Ende kann man ins Kötschachtal abfahren und diesem -nun wieder offiziell - bis zum Talschluss folgen. Beim Gasthaus Prosset endet die Tour. Zurück geht es über den selben Weg.
