Der Wochenendklassiker: Dresden - Meissen - Dresden. Semi-anspruchsvolle MTB-Tour von Dresden bis Meissen und zurück entlang der Elbe. Bei schönem Wetter eine Relax-Tour, größtenteils auf dem Elbradwanderweg, rechtselbisch hin und linkselbisch zurück (soweit es geht, am Ende der Tour gehts auf der gleichen Strecke zurück, da auf der linken Elbseite der Radweg nicht komplett bis Dresden geht). Hört sich für uns MTB-ler langweilig an, aber Vorsicht, nach einem Abstecher zur Meissner Burg, gehts auf dem Rückweg richtig zur Sache: Aufstiege, Singletrails und coole Downhills vom Feinsten, immer entlang auf dem linkselbischen Grad. Schlösser, Burgen und kleine Jagdhäuser laden zum Verweilen und Foto-Shooting ein. Bei sehr sonnigem Wetter gehts recht häufig schattig über Singletrails, das macht dann richtig Freude. Meissen an sich ist natürlich ein Highlight, die Altstadt ist ein Traum, jede Menge wunderschöne Gebäude, Gassen und Plätze. Auf Kopfsteinpflaster gehts hinauf bis zu einem Biergarten unterhalb der Burg. Die Abfahrt von der Burg ist bei schönem Wetter wg. der vielen Urlauber und Touristen u.U, schon spannend, auch weil MTB-ler scheinbar wohl nicht oft bis direkt auf die Burg fahren... Viel Spaß! P.S.: Die Tour läßt sich natürlich beliebig erweitern, also beispielsweise mit einem Abstecher zur Porzellan-Manufaktur in Meissen. Ebenso kann man auf der linkselbischen Elbkante auf Höhenlage bis nach Dresden zurückfahren. Man sollte sich aber nicht von den Entfernungen und den Steigungen/Gefällestrecken täuschen lassen, reine Luftlinie 30km können so leicht zu einer längeren Strecke werden und konditionell bzw. von der Verpflegung her sollten Vorkehrungen getroffen werden! Hierzu gibt es aber schon andere Touren, die dies eindrucksvoll beschreiben (z.B. hier die Tour #70080 mit weit über 1.000Hm). Anzumerken wäre weiter das meteorologische Phänomen, daß der Wind häufig von Osten nach Westen entlang der Elbe weht, das bedeutet, daß es bei der Hinfahrt Rückenwind gibt und es umgekehrt bei der Rückfahrt gegen den Wind angeht. Sollte das Wetter launisch oder regnerisch sein, wäre es nicht schlecht, dieses mit einzuplanen.

The Weekend Vintage Dresden - Meissen - Dresden. Semi-demanding MTB tour from Dresden to Meissen and back along the Elbe. In warm weather, a relaxation tour, mostly on the Elbradwanderweg, rechtselbisch back and linkselbisch back (where it goes, at the end of the tour you go back on the same route, as not completely to Dresden is on the left side of the Elbe, the cycle path). Sounds to us MTB-ler boring, but beware, after a detour to the Meissner castle, go on the way back down to business: climbs, singletrack and downhills cool at its best, always along on the left bank level. Castles, fortresses and small cabins invite you to linger and photo shoot. In very sunny weather quite often go through shady singletrack that makes then a real joy. Meissen itself is of course a highlight, the old town is a dream, a lot of beautiful buildings, streets and squares. On cobblestones go up to a beer garden below the castle. The departure of the castle is in nice weather wg. of many vacationers and tourists may already exciting, partly because MTB-ler seemingly well not often go to directly to the castle ... Have fun! PS: The tour can be naturally extended as, say for example a trip to the porcelain factory in Meissen. Similarly, one can on the left bank Elbkante back to altitude to Dresden. But you should not be fooled by the distances and slopes / inclines itself, pure air line 30km can so easily turn into a longer route and physically or by the Board fro precautions should be taken! To this end, there are already other tours that this impressively describe (example shows Tour # 70080, with well over 1.000Hm). It should be noted would further the meteorological phenomenon that the wind often blows from east to west along the Elbe, which means that there is a tailwind on the outward journey and regards it vice versa on the way back against the wind.
