Trail Description

3 Runden in verschiedenen Streckenlängen waren markiert.

Report Grumbach Cycle Tour 2011 It should be our Einrollrunde for cycling in 2011. The Grumbacher Cycle Tour was held this year for the 2nd time. Organizationally, there are still a few reserves. We missed the music and the match. 3 rounds in various track lengths were selected. We (my son and I) have decided to use the fitness round. The 35 km we really wanted to use to curl. However, it should turn out quite differently. 10.00 clock was a short speech by the Mayor of Jöhstadt start. Approx. 40 cyclists took the fitness-round attack. My son is mitgefahren equal in the leading group. I had arranged towards the back. Equal to the first 2 km foreshadowed what awaits us there. The distance profile at the start we knew, because we always go here in the winter with our cross-country skiers. Descent on grassy paths and root sections. Radical new departure to the valley station of the ski lift of Jöhstadt. Then on the Preßnitztal bike path towards Schmalzgrube. In Schmalzgrube then the first terror. So a steep mountain in the Ore Mountains, we knew not to date !!! I had to push the last few meters, because me and the photographer has caught. It follows an increase in the Ore Mountains, which seems to have no end. Subsequently, a radical new departure, where I had overlooked twice the marking arrows (Pink). Down there it goes again (!) Up to the aid station at km 23 Here we thought that worst would be over, no, now it really begins !!! We fight our way down to the road Schmalzgrube-Steinbach turn briefly to the Preßnitztal bike trail and it goes uphill again taut. We reach the height of Grumbach, a sign to the right says another 0.5 km to Grumbach and you can even see or suspect the sports field, the goal. We turn left. The last 5km have it in them. A kind Singeltrail, narrow paths soft ground, root passages, stone passages, mud passage, ruts ... it's always difficult. But the goal is near. After 2 hours we arrive exhausted the target. That was nothing roll with !!! Conclusion: a great challenging round with an attractive profile. Cross-country pure. But has, in our view less what to do with a bike ride. Should get a racing status. Organizationally, a few reserves. When Beschildung we would recommend to make arrows on the trees and striking points as you ever can strike the wrong direction on the slopes. The website still shows potential reserves.
