Partendo dal Piazzale della stazione di Galatina,si raggiunge il paese di Soleto,entrando di fatto nel territorio cosiddetto della Grecìa Salentina,una zona nella quale ancora oggi si parla un'antica lingua di derivazione greca,il Griko.Nel paese val la pena fermarsi un attimo ad ammirare la maestosa Guglia di Raimondello fatta erigere da Raimondo Orsini del Balzo.Usciti da Soleto ci dirigiamo verso Zollino,un paesino di 2000 anime dove la prima settimana di agosto,ogni anno,si svolge la caratteristica Sagra della Sceblasti,una specie di pagnottella rustica molto saporita.Si prosegue quindi per Martano,paese dove risiedono i monumenti megalitici più imponenti del Salento che abbiamo visitato,vale a dire il Menhir del Teofilo ed,appunto,la Specchia dei Mori
non prima di aver fatto però visita ad una caratteristica masseria abbandonata fuori Martano
ed aver scattato la solita foto di rito
Sulla strada che da Martano porta a Caprarica,un paio di km fuori dall'abitato,prendendo uno sterrato sulla destra,si raggiunge la Specchia(detta anche Specchia del Diavolo).Narra la leggenda che i Mori fossero gli antichi abitanti di queste terre che,per raggiungere Dio,costruirono una torre altissima,ma Dio li volle punire per la loro superbia e li fece sprofondare sotto la loro stessa costruzione.Dalla cima si può godere di uno splendido panorama ed ammirare il Mare Adriatico
Una volta scesi,non senza difficoltà,giù dalla Specchia
abbiamo inforcato le nostre biciclette ed abbiamo fatto ritorno a Galatina.

On the road from Martano leads to Caprarica, a couple of miles outside the town, taking a dirt road on the right, you will reach the Mirror (also known as the Devil's Mirror) .Narra the legend that the Moors were the ancient inhabitants of these lands, to reach God, they built a high tower, but God wanted to punish them for their pride and made them collapse under their own construction .from top you can enjoy a splendid view and admire the Adriatic Sea
Once off, not without difficulty, down from Specchia
we got on our bikes and we made it back to Galashiels.
