Die Tour wird bei einem geübten Mountainbiker die Begeisterung für die Region um Wernigerode wecken. Sie führt uns über interessante Wege und anspruchvolle Trails zu vielen Highlights im Umland von Wernigerode. Sie fordert an den vielen Anstiegen die Kondition und ist an den Aussichtspunkten ein Genuss für die Sinne. Die Tour startet am Bahnhof in Wernigerode. Vorbei an Rathaus und Westerntor geht es an der Bahnlinie entlang zum Bahnhof Steinerne Renne. Dem Bahnparallelweg folgen wir bis Drei Annen und dann weiter nach Drei Annen Hohne. Nachdem 500 Hm vollbracht sind, sollte hier die erste Pause eingelegt werden. Auf dem Hexenstieg geht es dann weiter durch das Steinbachtal nach Königshütte. An der kalten Bode entlang kommen wir zur Talsperre Wendefurth mit Blick auf die Staumauer der Rappbodetalsperre. Der Weg führt uns jetzt ins Bodetal und Altenbrak lädt zur zweiten Pause ein. In Treseburg angekommen, müssen wir den Hexenstieg verlassen, weil das Bodetal in Richtung Thale für Fahrräder gesperrt ist. Der Weg führt uns jetzt über die Bodebrücke und dann kurz steil bergauf auf den Trail zum Wilhelmsblick. Wer diese Anstrengung umgehen möchte bleibt auf der Fahrstraße und erreicht den Wilhelmsblick über den in den Stein gehauenen Fussgängertunnel. Vom Tunnel aus fahren wir weiter auf Asphalt bis wir kurz nach der Kreuzung rechts in den Weg zur Rosstrappe einbiegen. Nachdem wir die Aussicht an der Rosstrappe genossen haben, ist in der Tour die Downhillstrecke nach Thale eingearbeitet. Die Strecke ist anspruchsvoll und sollte nur von erfahrenen Bikern befahren werden. Alternativ kann man über die Straße nach Thale abfahren. Die dritte Pause sollte in Thale eingelegt werden, denn der Rückweg hat auch noch einige Höhenmeter. Ich kann das Eiscafe an der Bodebrücke empfehlen, hier gibt es das beste Eis das ich kenne. Von hier folgen wir dem Radweg R1 (ca. 25km und ca. 400Hm) über Blankenburg und Kloster Michelstein zurück zu unserem Ausgangspunkt in Wernigerode.

The tour will arouse the enthusiasm for the region around Wernigerode with an experienced mountain bikers. It takes us about interesting ways and challenging trails to the many highlights on the outskirts of Wernigerode. It calls on the many climbs and the condition is at lookouts a delight for the senses. The tour starts at the train station in Wernigerode. Past Town Hall and Westerntor it goes to the railway line to the station Stony Run. The Bahnparallelweg we follow to Drei Annen and then on to Drei Annen Hohne. After 500 Hm are accomplished, the first stop should be placed here. On the Hexenstieg it then goes through the Steinbach after Chorzów. At the cold Bode along we come to Wendefurth Dam overlooking the dam in the Rappbodetalsperre. The path now leads us into the Bode Valley and Altenbrak invites to the second break. Once in Treseburg, we have to leave the Witches because the Bode Valley is locked in the direction of the valley for bicycles. The path leads us using the Bode bridge and then short steep uphill on the trail to Wilhelmsblick. If you want to bypass this effort remains on the driveway and reach the Wilhelm overlooking the pedestrian tunnel carved into the stone. From the tunnel we drive on asphalt until we turn right just after the intersection in the road to Ross Trappe. After enjoying the view at the Ross Trappe, the downhill track to Thale is incorporated into the tour. The route is demanding and should be used only by experienced riders. Alternatively, you can ski on the road to the valley. The third break should be inserted in the valley, because of the way back also has some altitude. I can recommend the ice cream parlor at the Bode bridge, here there are the best ice cream I know. From here we follow the cycle path R1 (approximately 25km and about 400Hm) about Blankenburg and Michel monastery stone back to our starting point in Wernigerode.
