Den anspruchsvollen Trail vom Mte. Grillarine nach Costa d'Oneglia verdanke ich zwei Locals, die ich zufällig am Einstieg in den Trail traf und die so nett waren, ihre Freerider etwas zu zügeln, damit ich ihnen folgen konnte. Die Anfahrt zum Mte. Grillarine führt von Imperia auf der stillgelegten Uferstraße nach Diano Marina, dann auf wenig befahrenen Nebenstraßen mit gemütlicher Steigung über Diano Castello nach Diano Arentino. Hier folgt man dem Wegweiser nach Pontedassio und erreicht nach ca. eineinhalb Kilometern eine Passhöhe, wo man nach links auf den Schotterweg abbiegt. Nach wenigen hundert Metern sieht man rechts auf einer kleinen Anhöhe einen Antennenmast, der den höchsten Punkt der Tour und den Einstieg in den Trail markiert. Jetzt heißt es Sattel runter und den vollen Federweg einstellen! Verblockte Stellen, grober Schotter und eine holprige Mulattiera fordern volle Konzentration. Hat man Costa d'Oneglia erreicht, durchfährt man den Ort auf der schmalen Dorfstraße und rollt zwischen Weinbergen und Olivenhainen nach Imperia hinunter

The challenging trail from Mte.
