Bellissimo itinerario che parte dalla fraz. Cancelli di Fabriano (AN) sale su asfalto lungo la vecchia (e ormai abbandonata) S.S. 76 della Val d'Esino per giungere al valico di Fossato di Vico.
Da qui si imbocca il sentiero che ci condura sulngo la base della Cima Mutali e per poi scendere lungo un itinerario tecnico alle sorgenti del fiume Giano (Fonte Teia) e passare per le rovine dell'Eremo di Santa Maria d'Appennino (La Badia) vicino l'imbocco della galleria ferroviaria di Fossato di Vico.
Si torna all'abitato di Cancelli.
