Si tratta di un itinerario corto ma molto impegnativo dal punto di vista fisico e tecnico, infatti la salita sulla via Crucis è molto ripida e costringerà molti a mettere il piede a terra, mentre la discesa lungo il fosso del Castagnolo è piuttosto tecnica ed impervia, con numerosi passaggi a spinta. In compenso, il sentiero che parte da Madonna del Monte è molto divertente e il paesaggio che da li si gode è superlativo, con vista fino alla Corsica.
VARIANTI
Arrivati al bivio per Zanca, si può scendere fino a S. Andrea e percorrere il sentiero fino a Masciarello, quindi ritornare in salita sulla strada asfaltata e continuare fino a Marciana
CONSIGLI
Attenzione alla discesa del fosso del Castagnolo verso Patresi, presenta tratti molto tecnici e impegnativi, affrontarla solo con bici adeguate e se in possesso di buona tecnica di guida.

It is a short route but very demanding in terms of physical and technical, in fact climbing the Via Crucis is very steep and will force many to put your foot on the ground, while the descent along the ditch of Castagnolo is rather technical and steep, with many steps to push. On the other hand, the path that starts from Madonna del Monte is a lot of fun and the scenery that you can enjoy them is superb, with views as far as Corsica.
VARIATIONS
At the junction for Zanca, you can go up to S . Andrea and follow the path until you Masciarello, then back uphill on the paved road and continue until Marciana
TIPS
Attention to the descent of the ditch towards the Castagnolo Patresi, presents sometimes very technical and challenging, deal only with bike appropriate and if they have good driving technique.
