Trail Description


A sud di Perugia, tra la valle del fiume Tevere e quella del Chiascio-Topino, emergono dolci rilievi collinari quasi interamente ricoperti da boschi, principalmente sempreverdi della macchia mediterranea, che scendono dai versanti fin quasi a lambire le pianure sottostanti. Gran parte dell’itinerario proposto si sviluppa tra questi rilievi arrotondati, di inestimabile valore paesaggistico-ambientale. La partenza è fissata vicino a Bettona, alla frazione Passaggio, da dove si prende la direzione Bevagna per deviare a destra e salire a Collemancio. Si valica non lontani da Collemancio, attraversando un bellissimo crinale bordato da alberi secolari di querce, passando nei pressi della zona archeologica con i resti dell’ antico municipio romano di Urvinum Hortense (posta sulla sommità della collina che si affaccia sulla piana di Assisi) dove val la pena fare una breve deviazione. Si prende quindi l’ampia sterrata della Provinciale di Collemancio, che corre lungo il crinale tra oliveti e boschi di macchia mediterranea a perdita d’ occhio. Da Casa Bianchi si scende fino al torrente Sambro, per risalire ripidamente dall’altra parte. Facendo attenzione a incroci vari e a saliscendi più o meno impegnativi si arriva alla carrareccia che sale da Pomonte e quindi alla strada bianca che collega il piccolo abitato di Cerquiglino a Bettona. Da qui al valico che separa il versante collinare di Deruta da quello di Bettona si segue la via maestra passando accanto a Casa Sorgnano fino a intercettare alla fine la strada delle Cinque Querce che collega Bettona a Deruta. Da qui prendendo un sentiero molto sconnesso che passa in località Casa Montiliano si arriva al torrente Sambro. Seguendo il suo corso si arriva a superare un piccolo ponticello e quindi comodamente al punto di partenza.

To the south of Perugia, between the valley of the River Tiber and the Sand Martin Chiasco-emerge gentle hills almost entirely covered by forest, mostly evergreens of the Mediterranean, which descend from the slopes almost to lap the plains below. Much of the proposed itinerary develops between these pads rounded priceless landscape and environment. The departure is scheduled near Bettona, the fraction Passage, from where you take the direction Bevagna to turn right and climb to Collemancio. It crosses not far from Collemancio, crossing a ridge bordered by beautiful old trees of oak, passing near the archaeological site with the remains of 'ancient Roman town of Urvinum Hortense (located on the top of the hill overlooking the plain of Assisi) where it is worth making a short detour. Then you take the wide dirt of the Provincial Collemancio, which runs along the ridge between olive groves and Mediterranean vegetation loss d 'eye. From the White House comes down to the brook Sambro, to climb steeply on the other side. Taking care crossings various ups and downs and more or less difficult it gets to the track that leads from Pomonte and then the dirt road that connects the small village of Cerquiglino Bettona. From here to the pass that separates the hillside from Deruta Bettona to follow the main road passing near Casa Sorgnano up to intercept the end of the road that connects Bettona Five Oaks in Deruta. From here you take a very bumpy path that passes in Casa Montiliano you get to the creek Sambro. Following its course you get to pass a small bridge and then comfortably to the starting point.
