Kuppenheim - Fichtental - Ebersteinburg - Merkur - Staufenberg - Selbach - Jägertanne - Kuppenheim Eine abwechslungsreiche Tour durch romantische Täler, aussichtsreiche Höhen und natürlich als Höhepunkt auf den Merkur. Am Ortsausgang von Kuppenheim - am Friedhof - geht es hinauf ins Fichtental. Den Asphalt lassen wir bald hinter uns und es geht weiter überwiegend auf gut befestigten Forstwegen. Der Weg durch das Fichtental gibt immer wieder den Blick frei. Vorbei an der Wolfsschlucht geht es nach Ebersteinburg und von da die alte Merkurstraße (Forstweg) hinauf zum Binsenwasen und Merkur. Wer meint, jetzt geht es nur noch bergab zum Auto täuscht sich. Erstens ist erst ca ein Drittel der Strecke bewältigt und zweitens kommen noch einige nervige Gegenanstiege. Erst mal geht es zurück zum Binsenwasen. Dort aber links Richtung Selbach unter Vernichtung von Höhenmetern. Vor uns nach Selbach geht es dann aber wieder fast 100 Hm hinauf. Der Weg ist zwar aussichtsreich und schön, aber so langsam hatte ich genug. Es gibt einige Möglichkeiten, auf den alten Weg zurückzukehren und die Tour so etwas abzukürzen.

Kuppenheim - Fichtental - Ebersteinburg - Mercury - Staufenberg - Selbach - Hunter Fir - Kuppenheim A varied tour through romantic valleys, promising heights and of course the highlight on the Mercury. On the outskirts of hilltop home - the cemetery - it's up to the Fichtental. The asphalt we leave behind us soon and it goes on primarily on well-paved forest roads. The path through the Fichtental are always free to view. Passing the Wolfschlucht it comes to Eberstein Castle and from there the old Mercury road (forest road) up to the bins Wasen and Mercury. Anyone who thinks that now it's all downhill to the car wrong. First third of the route is only ca overcome and secondly to come some annoying counter increases. Only times it goes back to the bins Wasen. But left there direction Selbach under destruction height differences. Before us by Selbach it goes but then again almost 100 Uphill. The path is indeed promising and beautiful, but so slowly I had enough. There are some ways to return to the old way and something shorten the tour.
