Con partenza da Castello di Fiuminata, bella ascesa al Monte Ferro Rotondo per una boscosa carrareccia che risale la Valle delle Spiante fino alla sella col Monte Vermenone. Breve la salita per i prati del monte fin sotto la vetta che la si aggira a sinistra per prendere poi una serie di sentieri che scendono nel bosco lungo la valle del “Fiumetto”, piccolo affluente del Potenza che lambisce la Rocca di Santa Lucia, detta anche di “Laverino”. La rocca, fondata nell’XI secolo dalla famiglia Cavalca sulla linea di confine con la Marca, fu presto adibita a presidio militare dai Varano di Camerino, che vi mantennero un castellano fino al 1545, quando i loro beni furono incamerati dalla Santa Sede. La si può scorgere, immersa nel fitto del bosco, sopra ad uno strategico sperone roccioso. Una volta raggiunta la valle del fiume Potenza se ne percorre il suo lato destro lungo un sentiero, a tratti quasi chiuso dai rovi (si può optare per la strada asfaltata), per raggiungere nuovamente Castello di Fiuminata.
