Von Kutsounari über die Bergstrasse nach Agios Ioannis. Kurz nach dem Ort zweigen wir links auf eine Schotterstrasse ab, die uns bis auf den sichtbaren Bergkamm einiges an Kraft kostet, aber unvergessliche Ausblicke über diese schöne Region bringt. Auf der anderen Seite des Kammes gehts über einen Schotterweg herab zur Strasse nach Tripti. Im Ort angekommen zweigen wir nach links ab. Ein kurzer Abstecher bergauf, der mit überwältigendem Ausblick über Mittelkreta belohnt wird. Aber vorsicht - ein Schritt zuviel und es geht 900 Meter im freien Fall hinab. Danach geht es über eine rasante lange Schotterpiste hinab über Orino und Shinokapsala zurück zum Ausgangspunkt. Bei dieser Tour wird einer der höchsten Gipfel Ostkretas umrundet. Angesichts der Hitze sollte auf ausreichend Verpflegung, Sonnenschutz und Ersatzmaterial geachtet werden.

From Kutsounari on the mountain road to Agios Ioannis. Shortly after the place we turn left onto a gravel road that takes a lot to us to the visible ridge in force, but brings unforgettable views of this beautiful region. On the other side of the comb go through a dirt road down to the road to Tripti. Once in place, we turn to the left. A quick trip up the hill, you will be rewarded with magnificent views of Central Crete. But beware - a step too far and it is 900 meters in free fall down. Then it goes through a rapid long gravel road down over Orino and Shinokapsala back to the starting point. On this tour, one of the highest peaks of eastern Crete is surrounded. Given the heat should be paid to sufficient food, sunscreen and spare parts.
