Trail Description

Descrizione itinerario.

Description itinerary.
From the town of Andermatt 1423 we enter the center of the village and then take the slope leading Oberalp. There is no logical detours and remained at this very scenic highway, climb to the pass. Approximately 12 Km. Throughout this first part of the climb, with a vertical drop is not excessive, especially with a slope enough to cycle with ease. Arrived in the vicinity of the step, at the entrance to the gallery, my advice is to divert along the dirt road and grassy path that runs along the bank of the lake. Once the pass, and on the main road, you go back for a short distance as if you wanted to return to the valley, but only up to the entrance of the gallery again, it is at this point that on the right, take the dirt road that brings back to and the step below with a short climb to Tiarmspass m always on dirt. 2149. Now you have to get a pretty rough stretch and made little cycle by deep ruts in the path, then, having reached the bottom of the valley descent is greatly facilitated by a wide dirt track dirt and partly of new asphalt near the small town of Tschamut m .1644. There is at this point is to find Oberalppass road again, but this time in the uphill direction from Desentis. It starts to rise, but only up to the hairpin portion of 1834 at this point is definitely abandoned the pass and without the pressure of traffic, the climb begins in Val Maighels. The beginning is quite challenging and the dirt makes it difficult and hard the climb, but then came a little further upstream, where finally the observation in the valley takes on a lovely and very charming, the road enters the long valley in a more smooth and with long stretches of false flat. In short, it turns into a nice trail that runs along the right side of the valley in the direction of the glacier of P. Borel. It seems an unattainable goal, but then you realize that between a ride and the next we're almost at the foot of this face icy and snowy while the wheelbase is now within our grasp. With this long traverse that takes us into the heart of the valley, finally you feel those feelings that have the urge to never give up and continue towards new horizons and new adventures. Once the pass below us, a beautiful and charming body of water and the Unteralp. The descent down to the lake is quite path, then arrives at the shelter Vermigel hutte, everything depends on your ability to stay in the saddle on a trail very rough and bumpy, many traits are not paths and much of this part of the descent is recommended bike in hand. From the refuge, which is reached after a short climb, the next sequence down to resort to Andermatt is a long and wide scorrevolissimo dirt road, with no major difficulties. On An interesting and surprising ride, with a quite considerable development, but that offers stunning views over two valleys of great interest even hiking.
