Una montagna, una cresta, e un single track che la percorra: forse il sogno di ogni biker. Questa, in sostanza, è la Costa della Spina.

Da Padola si raggiunge il vicino borgo di Casamazzagno da dove inizia la dura ascesa, prima asfaltata e poi sterrata, fino al bivio Sommo; da qui si sale più dolcemente lungo il versante sud-occidentale del Monte Spina verso Malga Campobon, dalla quale un difficile single track in salita taglia il pendio del Col Rosson fin sotto il Col Quaternà (La Punta).

Con una mulattiera sconnessa si guadagna quota rapidamente, salvo poi percorrere un tratto a piedi (10-15 minuti) per via delle pendenze decisamente elevate; in vista della Sella del Quaternà inizia la discesa lungo il sentiero 148 della Costa della Spina.

Il single track è bellissimo ed entusiasmante e si sviluppa a pochi metri dalla cresta sommitale, alternando tratti facili ad altri più tecnici, con alcuni punti esposti che richiederanno attenzione nella prima parte e divertenti e veloci passaggi tra i prati nella parte centrale.

Dopo la parte più panoramica nei pressi del Monte Spina, dal quale la vista in ogni direzione sulle vette circostanti, la discesa entra nel bosco e prosegue su una tecnica mulattiera fino al bivio Sommo già incontrato in salita. Da qui si sale su una bella sterrata per un chilometro scendendo poi a San Leonardo e Casamazzagno. Il rientro a Padola avviene sull’asfalto già percorso all’andata.

Punto di partenza: Padola, Piazza San Luca. Ampio parcheggio fronte chiesa.

A mountain, a ridge, and a single track that Tread: perhaps the dream of every biker. This, in essence, is the Costa della Spina.
From Padola you reach the nearby village of Casamazzagno from where the last ascent before the asphalt and then a dirt road to the junction Supreme; From here you climb more gently along the south-west of Monte Spina towards Malga Campobon, from which a hard single track uphill cuts the slope of the Col Rosson just below the Col Quaternà (La Punta).
With a bumpy trail you gain altitude quickly, only to walk a walk (10-15 minutes) because of the much higher slopes; in view of the Sella Quaternà begins the descent along the path 148 of the Costa della Spina.
The single track is beautiful and exciting and develops a few meters from the summit ridge, alternating stretches easily to other more technical, with some exposed spots that will require attention in the first part and fun and fast passages through the meadows in the central part.
After the most scenic in the vicinity of Monte Spina, from which the view in every direction of the surrounding peaks, the descent enters the forest and continue on a technical trail to the junction Supreme already met uphill. From here you climb on a beautiful dirt road for a mile then down to San Leonardo and Casamazzagno. The return to Padola already takes place on the asphalt trail leg.
