Il mitico cinghiale genovese Enri Le Fou ci ha portato alla scoperta di questo splendido itinerario che si potrebbe anche rinominare come giro del Monte Nebius....ma anche del Monte Omo...e del Monte Bersaio! Insomma oltre duemila metri di dislivello fra bellissime vette calcaree e praterie fiorite da maggio a settembre!
La partenza è a Sambuco, piccolo centro della Valle Stura che ospita il caratteristico Museo della Pecora Sambucana. Ma lasciamo stare le pecore al pascolo e saliamo in sella!
La salita si snoda lungo la sterrata di recente costruzione che in 14,5 km e quasi 1300 m di dislivello ci permette di raggiungere il Colle di Salsas Blancias oltre il quale ci proiettiamo in breve sulla strada militare che unisce il famoso Colle Fauniera al colle della Gardetta. Procediamo su questa balconata che non scende mai sotto i 2400 m di quota per circa 6 km fino a raggiungere il Colle di Valcavera (2394 m). Qui, sulla destra, imbocchiamo lo spettacolare Sentiero dei Fiori, un singletracks da sogno che costeggia le pendici del Monte Omo. Raggiunta la costiera il sentiero inizia a farsi più tecnico e a scendere anche se mai troppo impegnativo né pendente. Superato un traverso si ricomincia a salire verso il Colle Serour (2432 m) fra un mare di stelle alpine e dove solo i più forti e testardi bikers riusciranno a fare tratti di quella salita in sella alla loro bike. Quindi portage fino al colle raggiunto il quale si apre uno splendido panorama sulla Valle degli Spagnoli e sulle sue invitanti placche calcaree che non aspettano altro che essere scalate!
Ancora un breve tratto di crinale fino al Colle Moura delle Vinche (2434 m) ed ecco che inizia la lunga discesa che fra ripidi tornanti ed ampie praterie ci permette di discendere il Vallone di Neraissa. Okkio nella parte finale poichè alcuni tratti di sentiero corteggiano la testa di una zona franosa che si getta a picco nel torrente.
Raggiunti i ruderi del Rifugio Monte Nebius scendiamo per qualche centinaia di metri su asfalto fino ad imboccare sulla dx la sterrata che in quasi 5 km al 10% di pendenza media sale al colle Varirosa (2015 m). Da qui una splendida e divertente discesa di oltre 6 km ci riporta alla partenza.

The mythical wild boar Genoese Enri Le Fou led us to the discovery of this wonderful journey that you might as well rename tour of Mont Nebius .... but also of the Omo ... Monte and Monte Bersaio! Well over two thousand meters in altitude between the beautiful limestone peaks and meadows full of flowers from May to September!
The starting point is a elder, a small town in the Valle Stura which houses the Museum of the Sheep characteristic Sambucana. But let the sheep out to pasture and climb in the saddle!
The climb takes you along the dirt road recently built in 14.5 km and nearly 1300 m of altitude allows us to reach the Colle di Salsas Blancias beyond which there in short we project on the military road which joins the famous Colle Fauniera the hill Gardetta. We proceed on this balcony that never drops below 2,400 m altitude for about 6 miles until you reach the Colle di Valcavera (2394 m). Here, on the right, we take the spectacular Trail of Flowers, a singletracks dream that runs along the slopes of Mount Omo. After reaching the coastal path starts to become more technical and down but never too busy nor pending. Passed a cross as you start to climb towards the Col Serour (2432 m) among a sea of ??edelweiss and where only the strongest and most stubborn bikers will be able to do something of that uphill riding their bikes. So portage up the hill at which it opens a wonderful view over the valley of the Spaniards and its inviting limestone plaques that are waiting to be climbed!
Even a short section of ridge to the col of Vinche Moura (2434 m) and here begins the long descent of steep hairpin bends and wide meadows allows us to derive the Valley of Neraissa. Okkio at the end as some sections of trail courting the head of a landslide area which flows to peak in the creek.
Reached the ruins of the Rifugio Monte Nebius go down for a few hundred meters of asphalt on the right until you reach the dirt road that 5 km in almost 10% of average slope up the hill Varirosa (2015 m). From here a wonderful and fun descent of more than 6 km brings us back to the start.
