Trail Description

An unknown valley in the heart of Lunigiana, intersected by a winding creek and covered by woods. Driving along paths that were once essential links between countries and are now wonder for our wheels.
The track is to be followed in clockwise and starts from the Municipal Gym of Filattiera. Back to the gym, we head Dx, where the road becomes dirt road taking us to a crossroads. Keeping the Right, and reached the obvious stalls Ranch Silvia right in front of us where, using the straight paved road that runs through the inside, we come to another fork. We turn to Right and Left after 100 mt, leaving the 'asphalt to enter on a grassy tratturo.
By following the main cattle track, crossing a grassy area, arriving in town Migliarina.
Reaching the resort, the fund will become in asphalt / concrete and keeping us straight, we go out from their homes, arriving at an underpass on your right site that will make us cross the main road and the railway.
continue along the right-hand bank of the railroad and passed the first arc of a long railway bridge, turn Left under a stone archway in going out on other paved road, which followed back to Sx, makes us pass under the second arch of the railway bridge.
Met in a short fork, take a Left in slightly uphill to keep in the direction of the yellow house in front of us, with a narrow passage at the back puts us on woodland path.
proceed in single trek, and keeping us rights we come to a steep bumpy approximately 60 meters according to Culazzano that enforces a "portage". We continue on dirt roads in the plain, until you reach a crossroads obvious recognizable by a brown directional signal of the Via Francigena.
Take a Right and keeping the main dirt road, we reach the paved road at La Selva.
We turn to Left and in short a Right onto a 'inviting dirt initially innocuous, soon shows his character and with steep asphalt road and then cement in the steepest part, takes us on location Olive grove with a rooftop terrace that offers a belvedere Ligurian Apennines . We continue on the main dirt road that always keeps the climb from the bottom curve facing technical and with slopes of 24%.
Released on dirt more importantly, we hold the Left reaching the paved road just upstream of the Country of Cavallana.
Climb the 'Right to asphalt and in short, in the vicinity of a clear vantage point, (Rocca Sigillina under the Mt Marmagna) leave the asphalt and we turn Right on a grassy path. Passed a rudimentary gate, continue in shady dirt road and out of the woods, let's rights, initially in the plane between the ferns and later on a nice trail that leads to a plateau of chestnut trees, on the summit of Mount La Costa. (Said to Gigliana)
We turn sharply left-hand track following the weak and conquered crinaletto, right-hand bend starting to come down with a large "Z" on the east side of the mountain, immettendoci on asphalt outlet Left leads to the town of Gigliana.
reached the second group of houses, leave the road and take the path that goes left oblique, protected by metal railings. The funny single-trek, crossing the rocky wall that dominates the country, coming out of a junction of roads and paths, recognizable by a Newsstand Votive white.
We take in front of us with the wide dirt road that stretch of tarmac in the final leads us to the country of Biglio.
pass under the arches in front of us and keeping us rights, leave the country on the path immettendoci. (Just before leaving the country, on the left, a short climb takes you to the source of the "fountain")
Arrived at a crossroads, recognizable by a small Votive Majesty, we hold the Dx in the direction of Irola and a technical track in descent takes us through some Rii on which it is required a bit of attention.
Placed on dirt slightly wider, we hold the Dx and downhill we reach the Country of Irola di Sopra, coming out on paved road. We follow a Dx, coming in fast descent to Irola di Sotto, in front of a small Votive Majesty. Keeping the Right entering the country and close to the first corner, leave the asphalt and we take a right-hand trail down through thick vegetation which quickly becomes more pronounced reaching a fork to hold still in Dx.
Following the track that follows dilapidated dry stone walls, we will focus on the ford of the Rio Vaggia and then exposed to some steps on our Left, until the final descent which leads to ford the stream Monia.
Going up the steep slope opposite, we keep track ever uphill, soon becomes a dirt road wider, (possibility of finding fences to be overcome by hand) which brings us to cross out an orchard on the white road. We follow a Left, coming to a fork in the road back to the country of Gigliana.
Take a Left, facing a long descent on a dirt road that leads to pick up speed, but where it is necessary to pay attention to the easy ability to find animals and locked gates behind every curve.
Beyond a chain, (we are entering a private property, so respect it) starting to rise so challenging, to introduce us about other dirt usually divided by chain / gate. We are in Cà Piola. Now we go down the dirt road to Sx, which soon becomes a beautiful trail that follows the ridge between the entire Valley Monia and the Plain of Filattiera. Meet the junctions on your right, we always keep the rights, addressing the last beautiful stretch that comes out again in front of the Torrente Monia.
We hold the right following the creek, and on Cross the concrete bridge we arrive on a paved road.
Let's go to the right and then right again at the next intersection, immettendoci on the State of Cisa taken again to the right, leads us in about 3 km defaticanti arrival.
