Trail Description

We took the description of this route from the map of "Adamello Bike Arena" which describes 18 different courses for MTB beautifully selected and well reported in the Upper Valley Caomica and in the Val di Sole.
Da Ponte di Legno we head towards the village of piece along the main road of the Gavia and arrived at the bridge of the Oxen, leaving the Santella on the left, take the old road to Pieces, paved only in the first section. After three turns, tracks the last few meters of dirt road entering the village along the steep road that leads after four turns below the church. Turn right in the direction of Case di Viso and walk along the grassy road that passing the Pont Martinui the door on the left side of the valley. We head to the left and after about a mile you will reach Case di Viso (1758 m), a charming town in the quiet times where it is easy to observe deer and deer grazing.
The road continues uphill and after two bends reaches ample parking; come here, turn right and, gritting his teeth, you begin the ascent to the refuge Bozzi at an altitude of 2478 m around which, for history buffs, you can visit the trenches of the White War recently arranged and made accessible.
You climb back in the saddle and start the descent to 300 m along the road traveled uphill to the junction with the CAI n ° 2 On the left is facing a first stretch of bumpy and then begin a wonderful single- 4 km of track that crosses a true forest of rhododendrons in bloom in early July, leading to the Dosso di Meda (2300 m), vertically above the Ponte di Legno. At this point, you go right and follow the grassy path, sometimes very steep, that the lower leaves room for a great military road along which you can finally let go of the brakes. On reaching the road Tonalina keep left and continue up to the houses of Talas: turning right and continuing to follow the path CAI n ° 2 falls to Ponte di Legno.
We journey on September 13 2008, starting in the late morning in a rare moment of respite in the rain but did not in the least spoiled the bottom of the track.
The rain has also accompanied the last part of the climb to Bozzi, allowing a triumphant arrival at the shelter welcomed , in the fog, almost in disbelief by the managers of our arrival.
About happen in the area of ??Ponte di Legno and enjoys a good preparation (16 km away. edge are more and more demanding until the arrival at the shelter) can not pass up the opportunity to deal with this experience. Only RECOMMENDATION: scagliere the warmer months of the year, remembering that in mid-September, the shelter closes.
