Trail Description

Traversata M. Bar – S. Lucio

Crossing M. Bar - S. Lucio
From Tesserete follow the signs for Val Colla, taking the road to the mountain to Roveredo and Bidogno. Arrived at this location, above the town, on the bend, leave the main road and take the paved road that leads to Somazzo, from this point on, there are more chances of error path, faithfully following this road that climbs steadily, you first arrive to a pole, where from this point on the road is no longer accessible by car, and always followed by paved road, but with panoramic views of the valley floor gradually more and more interesting, we arrive at Rifugio M. Bar. near the refuge, the dirt road begins that will not forsake us now to return to the valley.
From Ref. M. Bar, along with a circumvention of the ridge of the peak of M. Bar to Alpe Piandanazzo. From this point the road now turns into a small, narrow sinuous path that goes into the conformity of the valley, winding and following the shape of the slope and its steep and steep valleys that descend from the top of Garzirola. With a long and spectacular sideways unlikely path, you will arrive after switching from the Rifugio Malga Pietrarossa S. Lucio and the church of the same name on the border and in a splendid panoramic position on the Val Cavargna.
(This sideways from Ref. M. Bar to Ref. S. Lucio, in some places it is particularly exposed and consequently is required and a good mastery of the bike).
Once we arrived at the shelter S. Lucio, if you look in a southerly direction towards M. Cucco, can be seen just below the church, to the right, the obvious path without the possibility of making a mistake leads directly to the Bocchetta di S. Bernardo. Now it comes down to the hut Pianca Bella always following the signs to the hut Pairolo. (Be careful in the woods - at some point to get to the hut you have to bend to the left. A little before arriving at this shelter meets a crossroads of streets, without delay, take the left, following the signs to the hut Pairolo. < br> (All of this downslope towards the hut, offers a splendid view of the opposite side, and a large part of the climb and traverse just done and especially the path that descends gradually, it is very funny and incredibly smooth, this time without any major difficulties)
Once at the hut below, continue straight on to a narrow path that first goes down along a meadow and then continue steep and winding and quite challenging in the woods. past this last hurdle, we continue the descent following the signs that lead to the path Sonvico. Otherwise you have a GPS track, always follow the directions of the arrows indicating Tesserete path and, by doing so you will arrive at the bottom of a valley and crossed the river on a bridge, spallando and pushing for a short distance the bike you get below a Tesserete. If you have available the track to GPS, you can follow and avoid this drop down to the bottom and back to Tesserete along the road that goes from Lugano for a short distance.
