Los gehts wieder in Gotha, Goldbacher Siedlung am Gemeinschaftshaus. Ein kurzes Stück Landstraße Richtung Goldbach und am "Alschleber Brünnchen" links ab und hoch auf den Kranberg. Das zieht sich jetzt ganz schön ca 2 Km bei mittlerer Steigung. Zwischen durch kann mann rechts abbiegen und zum "Franktempel" fahren. Leider ist es eine Ruine. Am "Russenbrunnen" steil links den kurzen Berg hoch und man ist auf dem Kamm des Kranberges. Höhe ca.413 Meter. Ein Abstecher zum 30 hohen Bürgertum lohnt sich auf jeden Fall. Eine super Aussicht. Man sieht den Ettersberg in Weimar, den Inselsberg, den Schneekopf, die Fahner Höhen und die Burgen. Weiter geht es auf einem zum Teil wurzeligen Trail durch den Wald. An den 3 Windrädern rechts ab Richtung Aspach. Ein sehr schöner, leicht abfallender Weg bis zur Straße (ehem. Russensperrgebiet). Durch Aspach durch, über die B7 hinweg und einem Betonplattenweg Richtung Hörselgau. Aufpassen! Kurz vor dem steilen abfallenden Berg Richtung Hörselgau geht es rechts ab zu den 3 Teichen. Ein wirklich schönes Fleck Erde. Allerdings ist die Hütte nur an speziellen Tagen geöffnet, wie Männertag o.ä. Wieder ein Stück zurück und weiter auf unserem Weg bis Hörselgau, unter einer kleinen Zugunterführung hinweg und scharf links ab auf einen guten Wirtschaftsweg. Der ist ca. 3 Km lang geradeaus an der Bahnstrecke. Bei Südwind riecht es allerdings stark nach Schweineställen. Rechts ab nach Leina auf eine Bitumierten Weg. Man kann auch geradeaus fahren und einen Abstecher zum "Aquädukt" machen. Vielleicht noch 1000 Meter. Von Leina geht es dann hoch auf den Boxberg. Vorbei an ein paar kleinen Häusern. Befor man links auf eine langen Waldweg abbiegt, kann man rechts abbiegen auf einen schmalen Singletrail direkt an der Leina entlang. Ist wirklich klasse!. Aber nur befahrbar, wenn es eine Woche nicht geregnet hat. Egal wo lang, man kommt oben an der Pferderennbahn raus. Weiter am Hotel Thüringer Waldblick vorbei, entlang der Rennbahn und durch den Wald. Ein Teilstück ist verdammt holperig! Am Waldende steht unweit die "Alte Eiche". Weiter geht es ein Stück neben der Autobahn und dann nach Gotha. Vorbei am Krankenhaus und duch die Stadt bis zum Park. Den durchqueren, an den Parkteichen vorbei, vielleicht noch die Orangerie anschauen und dann zum Hauptmarkt mit Wasserkunst. Vorbei am Rathaus, über die Gartenstraße und Berg hoch Richtung Goldbacher Siedlung zum Startpunkt. Ich habe hier jede Menge Wegpunkte von Sehenswürdigkeiten, Gaststätten, Teichen und schönen Aussichtspunkten eingebracht, welche unweit der Strecke entfernt sind. Man kann auch diese in seine Route mit einarbeiten. Die Strecke ist für Jedermann befahrbar und macht wirklich Spaß! Ich fahre diese Strecke sehr oft, auch etwas unterschiedlich.
