Descrizione itinerario Dal parcheggio nei pressi dell’Ippodromo, si prosegue seguendo le indicazione Sacro Monte – Campo dei Fiori, lungo la strada che conduce verso Brinzio, iniziando la salita nei pressi della località S. Ambrogio. Senza mai abbandonare questa strada, che porta alla 1° Cappella del Sacro Monte, si continua la salita in direzione di S. Maria del Monte. Arrivati all’ingresso del paese, e ai parcheggi, si abbandona momentaneamente la strada principale e con un traverso in parte sterrato, si ricupera la strada asfaltata che porta verso l’Osservatorio Astronomico. Si riprende a salire ancora sulla strada asfaltata, per poi arrivare al traverso che conduce al Monte Campo dei Fiori e al Forte di Orino. Da qui in poi, si inizia il tratto sterrato che con un lungo traverso molto scorrevole, senza deviazioni ingannevoli, porta ai brevi e corti tornanti del Forte di Orino. Molto bello il panorama sui laghi di Varese, Monate, Comabbio e sul lago Maggiore. Discesa e rientro Dal Forte di Orino, (quota 1132), si scendono nuovamente i brevi tornanti, poi, non imboccare il facile ed evidente sterrato che si presenta d’avanti, ma si prende invece il sentiero un poco più a sinistra che scende con forte pendenza verso Cocquio. Un poco più sotto, nel bosco attenzione! non procedere lungo il sentiero marcato ma prendere il sentiero di destra all’inizio poco evidente e procedere lungo la discesa sempre verso Cocquio. Questo primo tratto di discesa è molto tecnico e insidioso, poi via via le difficoltà diminuiscono e si scende sempre con più facilità. Dopo un lungo tratto di discesa, si arriva ad una deviazione del sentiero ed in questo caso, prendere quello di sinistra (indicazioni sentiero n. 10). Ancora più giù, si arriva in località (Quattro strade). Prendere sempre per il sentiero n. 10 e Velate). Da qui in poi, si procede molto speditamente lungo una larga carrareccia sempre in direzione di Velate. A quota 604, procedere diritti seguendo sempre il sentiero n. 10 e indicazioni Velate. Arrivati alla quota 576, piegare a sinistra, e un poco più avanti quota 567 ancora a sinistra, sempre per Velate. Si passa di seguito incrociando Via al Piano per poi uscire dal bosco arrivando sulla strada asfaltata. Brevissima discesa e subito si piega alla sinistra, imboccando una carrareccia (via Piani dell’Occo) su prato arrivando di seguito nell’abitato di Casciago quota 448. Alla rotonda si prende la SS 394 per poi deviare a sinistra un poco più giù verso lo stadio, seguendo poi le indicazioni per il Palaghiaccio, rientrare al punto di partenza. Note aggiuntive. Spero di essere stato abbastanza chiaro nel dare le giuste indicazioni, in particolare nel lungo traverso e rientro nel bosco, dalla località quattro strade in poi. Se ci saranno aggiornamenti e possibili specifiche più dettagliate, provvederò a inserirle.

Description of the route from the car park near the & rsquo; Hippodrome, continue following signs Sacro Monte & ndash; Campo dei Fiori, along the road that leads to Brinzio, starting the climb near the village of St. Ambrose. Without abandoning this road, which leads to the 1 & deg; Chapel of the Sacred Mount, continue the climb towards S. Maria del Monte. Arrived at & rsquo; entrance of the village, and parking lots, at the moment you leave the main road and with a cross in part dirt, one recovers the paved road that leads to the & rsquo; Astronomical Observatory. It starts to climb again on the road, then get on the beam that leads to Monte Campo dei Fiori and the Fort Orino. From here on, it begins the dirt road with a long traverse very smooth, without misleading detours, leads to short and short hairpin bends of the Fort of Orino. Very nice view of the lakes of Varese, Monate, Comabbio and Lake Maggiore. Descent and return from Fort Orino (altitude 1132), we descend again short hairpin turns, then, do not take the easy and obvious dirt road that looks d & rsquo; ahead, but instead takes the path a little more to the left that goes down with strong inclination towards Cocquio. A little below, in the woods beware! not proceed along the marked path but take the right path & Outdoors; little obvious beginning and proceed down the hill towards Cocquio always. This first part of the descent is very technical and tricky, then gradually decrease the difficulty and always goes down with more ease. After a long stretch of downhill, you will come to a deviation of the path and in this case, take the left (signposted path n. 10). Further down, you arrive in resort (Four Roads). Always take the path n. Veiled and 10). From here on, we proceed very quickly along a wide dirt track in the direction of Veiled. At an altitude of 604, continue straight, always following the path n. 10 Veiled and directions. Once at altitude 576, bend to the left, and a little further share 567 left again, always for Veiled. It passes below the crossing Via Piano before coming out of the woods on a paved road. Short descent and immediately bends to the left along a track (via Plans of & rsquo; Occo) on grass coming below in the & rsquo; village of Casciago portion 448 At the roundabout, take the SS 394 and then veer to the left a little further down towards the stage, then follow the signs to the Ice Palace, returning to the starting point. Additional Notes. I hope I was clear enough in giving the right directions, particularly in the long traverse and return in the woods, four roads in the resort then. If there will be updates and possible more detailed specifications, I shall insert.
