Trail Description

Consigliato in estate e all'inizio dell'autunno.

The location allows you to visit the pretty villages of Lierna, Valagnesi, cooking lessons, and the monasteries of Camaldoli Hermitage, some natural attractions (the Chestnut Miraglia, the habitat of amphibians in the park, the fir and beech forests as well) and follow the historic trails such as the Path of the Germans and the Way of the Woods, as well as a small part of the ridge Giogana Tuscan-Romagna. Recommended in summer and early autumn.
It starts from (source), leaving the town to the right with the old core of the castle behind. Turn left on Dogwood Street, along the paved road in the mountains with beautiful views of the Casentino Valley and Pratomagno. In places Montanino, turn right in the direction of Camaldoli and at the first intersection, at the forest house, turn left onto the road to the Hermitage. In Fosso Casini, in a clearing, turn right on the path downhill to 72 Camaldoli. Taking after the Nature Trail at the center of the crossroads, you first arrive in a pond, typical habitat deglidel park and then to the monumental. Then follow the Nature Trail on the left lane and not marked it down to the right to (source), and then continue left up to '(source) on the paved forest road. All'Eremo you continue uphill towards Badia Prataglia right onto locations in Prato alla Penna left (bar) the Giogana, historic mule track along the ridge that connects with the Passo della Calla and the watershed between Tuscany and Romagna. A Yoke Seccheta we take the left path 76 downhill: we are on the path of medieval relic of large trunks towards the dock of Pratovecchio Arno, along which you can observe the "squares" of coal miners. At the end of the road (bar), continue to the right on the asphalt still following the trail of the path 76, passing Cross Gaggi, historical place of imposed timber, and coming back in the woods on the left downhill. So it keeps the left near the road and beyond, in an open environment occupied by scrubland vegetation composed of species bushy alternate with stretches of exposed rock, you follow, picking his way among rocks and pine cones stirred, before the trail of the path then , paying attention, the deviation close to the left indicating (source), which is reached by stairs street.
the first corner on the right after the village, follow the faint track in the grass keeping the left and in correspondence pine on marly soil, keep right up to the paved road and follow it uphill to the left. We are on the road Asqua, which rises up dirt eponymous (source). We pass another area inhabited by amphibians, then you leave the road, taking the number 94 on the left, where there are remains of stalking, dating back to World War II. With gentle ascent takes you back to the Cross Gaggi, to proceed immediately to the right in the path 74 and then right in the 74A in the beautiful, to come down to the Refuge Secchieta. Continuing downhill, take the trail soon 72a right wonderful. When it begins to rise, turn left on trail signs with white / green (where present) that runs along Poggio Muschioso first and then descends along the ridge. Here begins a long descent that will take us back to the starting point. It runs partly on unmarked path, hard to find without GPS track: the first part takes us back on the path of the Germans, which we crossed to regain the road Asqua. This first part (shown in the track gps) could be hardly feasible: it is possible to avoid it and continue straight on the ridge (path of resistance or 94th) up the road that goes to Asqua embarked on the right to return to the track.
Then leave the Asqua road side before continuing on the old trail, then left on path in pine forest brings us to the asphalt road that Daporta to Montanino. You turn left and then immediately right the old mule and left again when she finds herself on the asphalt path.
