Trail Description

Technically driving heavy bike and hike tour of Graubünden (Ilanz, Ruen) to Glarus (Elm, Schwanden). The tour is for technology fans a cherry on top - added a lot of effort. Actually I wanted to go last year about the Bless pass from Flims to Elm - unfortunately from the Segneshütte absolutely impassable (then it was the beautiful B + H Laax Tour - Walking Trails - Bargeis). So I came after extensive search on a book by Beat hundredweight ("The most beautiful BIKE TOURS REMOTE through the Alps" -> link below). Therein, the passport was described in the Tour Como Rorschach, but without track. As the hike tour with gps track in Swiss Hiking Forums was found. We are the tour so driven: a car to Glarus (Schwanden), with the other car via Chur Graubünden Ilianz by Ruen and up to the end of the road after Panix Pigniu (about 1200m). From here the MTB driveway was in stages moved on about 800hm, the rest of about 300HM-400hm was then impassable. Worth mentioning yet that the sliding piece at the end alpine was steep and there is danger of slipping -> good shoes helpful. After latching on passport (to stay in the refuge) one of the best runs in my previous MTB time. Until shortly before Elm almost everything was mobile, although sometimes quite tricky. I know from Hoehn difference and the difficulty hardly anything comparable. Conclusion: For this route, the significant effort paid (. 3-4 hours drive around the mountain - and back)! Next time, perhaps as 2-3Tages round (with Zugunterstützung): Elm (Glarus) - Foopass - Sargans - Kunkelpaß - Graubünden (Laax) - Ilianz - Panixerpass? The Foopass is the way in Tour # 13294: contain hidden Transalp Friedrichshafen Nice (2007).
