Escursione cicloalpinistica sulla montagna simbolo del Parco Nazionale dei Monti Sibillini dalla quale prende il nome. Siamo partiti da Rocca di Montemonaco, in Val d'Aso, ed abbiamo raggiunto per un ripido sentiero (che inizia da Toce) la strada "panoramica" che termina praticamente sotto la vetta della montagna. La leggenda vuole che in una grotta della montagna (la Grotta delle Fate) dimorasse la Sibilla Appenninica le cui gesta vennero narrate da Andrea da Barberino nel famoso "Guerrin Meschino". Questo romanzo cavalleresco, insieme all'Orlando Furioso ed alla Gerusalemme Liberata era tra le letture preferite dei pastori dei secoli passati e contribuì a rafforzare le numerose leggende su questi monti come quella della Sibilla. Noi non siamo andati alla grotta ma per chi la volesse visitare c'è da raggiungere una sella posta prima della cima, esposta a sud, a quota 2150. Dalla Sibilla inizia un faticoso saliscendi, esposto e molto scosceso, dove la pedalabilità è quasi nulla, che abbiamo percorso fin sotto la sella del Monrte Porche. Da quì ci siamo inoltrati, con attenzione, verso il Laghetto di Palazzo Borghese da dove inizia il bellissimo single-track del Fosso Zappacenere che termina sulla provinciale che proviene da Foce.
