Von San Pedro de Atacama bis zur Passhöhe auf geteerter Straße, dann links weg zum Hito Cayon, dem Grenzpass zu Bolivien. Jetzt ist's fertig mit Teer und eine der schwersten Pisten Südamerikas beginnt, bis zur nächsten Teerstrasse sind 700 km zu fahren. Auf sandiger und steiler Piste geht's über Laguna Verde und Salar Chalviri in einer langgezogenen Steigung zum Sol de Manana, höchstes Geysirfeld weltweit. Brutaler Wind auch von vorne. Guter Biwakplatz bei S 22°32.114 W 67°38.934 mit heißen Thermalquellen. Sensationelle Landschaft, fahrt mal hin...
